@@Nezzle I did and doing it that way, you get to meet the people. One time I couldn't find my car back. After I walked past this mans house four times, he got up and stopped me. "You are lost aren't you?". He offered me to show the way, if I would bring him to St George, LPB is not that far so I agreed. During the car ride I learned so much about your beautiful island. In my list of most friendly people, Grenadians rank in the top 3!

11:10 I think that road takes you into La Mode - which means ... yes ... you need to do a walking tour of La Mode up to the top of St. George's Estate with the beautiful forested slopes of Mt. Maitland. 14:34 That gravel heap was the site of a fatal freak accident and has never been used since. A tractor operator was doing his gravel mining work when there was a gravel avalanche that buried him and his tractor, killing him.

8:15 Radix, where the hills are so steep they're weaponized! 10:10 Makes sense if somebody is protecting some "road-weed" up there. lol 13:09 I found a cross reference that claims it's Curasee/cerasee (or Caroyla elsewhere) but in Grenada it has the name you mentioned. Bitter melon in other places, but I have never seen a ripened one turn bright orange/yellow like that - and so tiny either. Probably there are a variety of slightly different species called by the same names and with various medicinal claims. Never known of a sweet vanilla taste though for either type of bitter melon I have eaten in savory dishes like fry-ups and curries. 16:40 Forrest Gump tribute coming up: Run, Beau-y, run! (Sorry, I don't know how he spells his name.) I enjoyed the vlog-walk but now I'm thinking about cake and Ice cream.
@Nezzle3 жыл бұрын
😂😂😂 you’ve got nuff jokes. Never heard it by that name but I figured it might have different names in other places. I can’t remember how it tastes honestly so I was relying on Tonia there. And yes I don’t know how to spell the dog’s name either but definitely a Forest Gump reference. Glad you enjoyed the video. Get yourself that cake and ice cream now.
@roxannecooper83313 жыл бұрын
It’s called corielee or collie pawpaw. The yellow fruit has a red seed inside and it doesn’t get any bigger. It’s a bitter leaves the elders used for cooling and cleansing. I think it’s good for high blood pressure as well. The fruit the young lady explained that is similar to passion fruit is called water lemon. I had many of those in my young days, it’s yellow on the outside and very sweet on the inside with seeds and the jellylike substance as the passion fruit.

@@roxannecooper8331 Thanks for the further clarification. It confirms that these names are being used interchangeably for *different* but probably very distantly related species of fruit. What I was brought up with as corilie or coroyla is what they sell in supermarkets as bitter melon. A green pod looking like a spiky and bumpy cucumber that itself has at least two regional types (large seeds and finer seeds) but are each *quite* bitter. Interesting though, that the medicinal claims are about the same as with many supposed healthy plants. Things like being good for diabetics and blood pressure; a blood cleanser; pains and cramps etc, etc. Thanks again.

@@roxannecooper8331 interesting. I feel like I may like the water lemon. I'm not a fan of the corielee though from my experience with it.
