In our difficulties and afflictions, God is preparing something precious and extravagant to give to us.
He is giving us more of Himself- the eternal, ever-youthful, ever-ancient Spirit.
So as we observe and interact with the world around us and within us - circumstances, people, situations - let us consider even more incisively and thoroughly the Word and the Spirit of God, and think and act accordingly.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen in continuous.
And crucially, let us not seek to denigrate or lose the human life - body and soul- that God has gifted to us.
Rather, as we move towards that Day when what is mortal will be fully graced with the eternal quality of the Life of God, let us rejoice that we’ve been given a foretaste of the good things to come - the Spirit of the Living God within us.
