dope vid bro i just have a question do remember if 37a picked up autos racks or empties cuz ik that plant closed in 08 i didnt know vechiles still moved outta there

Thank you, They still operate the autos but they transfer them at the port of Wilmington. I suppose in technical terms 37A isn’t just an autorack train, however on this night they’d pickup freight at Chrysler yard just beyond the station.

37a worked Chrysler yard back then because K64 & K54 and abolished K35 (basically morning variant of K54) would have outbound freight from DCR & Reybold Refinery. They'd pickup and tack on then go. 37A then only had the racks from autoport in Wilmington and whatever stuff the Edgemoor locals had (aka K37 K53 K55 etc)

its so strange to see freight on the NEC, I am guessing it only runs at night. I have to be curious are any of those NS locomotives dual power? That is can any reach up and grab the overheads and run pure electric since its there and would save the bean counters on the diesel bill.

For the most part they run freight at night as to not cause delay to the rush of the NEC. However, in recent years Amtrak has become a little more flexible with the rule allowing some daylight trains occasionally. Most of the freight traffic runs south of PA minus one local which runs the corridor from Philadelphia to Marcus hook and returns via CSX. No dual power in these, pure diesel!

Which numbered train was the one that left the passengers, was it the one that passed on the other side of 182??
@RailFanMikeProductions4 ай бұрын
Yes, train 135 flew past, they can be seen reversing alongside the 182 and just prior to that clip. Never seen that happen before there

I bet that engineer wont hear the end of this for awhile at whatever is the home station. The conductor probably had an interesting call to the locomotive and then the engineer to dispatch.
