I do not have many role models or father figures but this guy at least seems worthy.

My parents saw him and had a couple of his books of poetry I also enjoyed but Canadian arts and culture may have changed or disappeared since then unfortunately. It's sub culture again to enjoy such things as poetry.

There is nothing French about Leonard Cohen. The closest he came was to be influenced by Quebecois culture.
