Hey Luke, I like the fact you believe in medicine, but please also understand for some people medicine is a must, its not just on paper or just treat symptoms. People do have real diseases like simple examples Type I Diabetes or essential HTN that require medication in addition to lifestyle changes. You say you are not against medication at the same time belittles uses of medication. On contrary to the problems you are seeing in people being reluctant for lifestyle changes, as a physician I see people that believe life style is going to cure their diseases and are not receptive to our advice.
@coolshraddha3125 жыл бұрын
U got him wrong.. if u try to follow his videos.. he makes sure that he dsnt undermine the importance of medicines..
@fractaliteration83175 жыл бұрын
srikanth is right !!! medicine is born out of treating illnesses and if one has been treated for or has no illness means just that hes not ill !!! not that hes improving on health or drastically decreasing the chances of falling ill !! and using that as a yardstick to measure or improve heath may not be the way to do it! we know one size cannot fit all and if being holistic means adding multiple things, does it make more sense to wear all sizes ? we live in this world with other species like us - animals do have similar organs etc. but do they have more food groups than us ? we never hear for eg: lions adding fibre to diet or elephants having more meat and eggs??? instead maybe we should look for balance if you cannot do one thing add or restrict something else that will keep the balance. why I am saying this is coz if this info is for general public who have varying backgrounds and environments they should be encouraged to keep balance rather than add more of many things which they cant or may not be able to. it applies to food exercise and meditation too ! say for Eg: you feel you need more time to meditate or exercise and you cant, that itself could cause stress that you need to avoid, right ? what i feel is we, as consumers, need to think about these things also and not just follow what is being said by several nutritionists and dietitians !! chances are it might end up being just as good as having a bad lifestyle for an individual !!
@kavisiddu4 жыл бұрын
Modern medicines are required for mostly emergency purposes only, that too may be only one percentage of the population may need it. For the long term chronic illness mostly holistic medicines like Ayurveda will do good..
@Nimmagadda4 жыл бұрын
Shridhar shettigar could you back up your claims? Not sure how you are coming up with numbers like one percent. Medicine is medicine weather it is Ayurvedic / allopathic / naturopathic / homeopathic, I would encourage people to go with any medicine that is proven with scientific methods like RCT.

About diet. I know people who ate same food from birth , still end up with cancer, diabetes etc. I would wager to say if you are happy with what you eat, the healthier you might be.
@kavisiddu4 жыл бұрын
Food and diet are not the only trigger for cancer. Environment where we live also play some part. BTW all of us are made different, so our body responds differently.

Did you major in arts or science? Looks like you majored in arts and not in science. Not to say you cannot update your knowledge and lifestyle and prevention are certainly important but please don't belittle science and randomized controlled trials. All diabetes is not because of lifestyle...there's type 1 diabetes due to autoimmunity, maturity onset diabetes of the young due to a genetic defect, gestational diabetes due to pregnancy. Its an amalgamation of nature and nurture...there's genetics plus lifestyle...there are multifactorial causes. When diabetes, hypertension have already set in, only lifestyle may not always be effective...medications are needed in many cases along with lifestyle Everyone please read "Killing us softly: the sense and nonsense of alternative medicine" to be more informed about all treatment approaches to healthcare
