CAS has Starter relay within it the same as EWS system, do not require a DME installed to crank it is independent once you have a matched key.

Great video, now I got a better understanding. I change the transmission solenoid on my 530i after that car not starting now I guess it went into antitheft mode

Hi . Im fishing for help. I lost my auxiliary on my ignition using my fob . It comes on but only for 5ec.then the radio,ac,bmw logo goes blank. Then push fob into 2nd position everything comes back on . No warning signs or check lights.if car hasnt ran for 3days my time and date dissapear.and i have to reset . Have you heard of anything like this ,? 2008 525i e60 . Any ideas will be awsom

Long story short I lost my key to my bmw e90 and I called a locksmith guy to program a new key to my car , he couldn’t do it for some reason , so I just decided to buy a new one from the dealer , when my new key from the dealer arrived it wasn’t working at all , called the locksmith guy back told him what’s going on , so he came back and tried to fix it but couldn’t do it again , but somehow he was able make a different key work but The car only unlocks , locks, opens trunk , cranks but engine doesn’t turn on , please any help would be appreciate ,

So I have a e60 I been using inpa says the key is good it's a manual transmission no start no crank diamond key it's not a push start so inpa says keys good I've rest and sync the dme I tryed unplugging the battery went through fuses but it says cas locked the weird thing I replace the module under the seat and programmed it I unplugged the light module that sits next to the cas2 i didnt clip the light module all the way but my car started at the time I'm like yes I did something but no lights drove it around and realized the light module isnt plugged in all the way so I did and car wont start seat works now got lights passenger wind wont roll down I tryed recreating the light module unplugs slightly will a ak-90 work on cas2 or would I have to solder it in since it's a diamond key just like ews2-3 can inpa even rest the cas and dme and sync them I going crazy why did it start for a whole day off on off on the nothing once I plugged the light module in again it's not the starter that wouldnt lock the cas and give errors any idea'sits getting to the piont where sucking a dick to use joe rogan's time machine dont sound that bad

I have crank no start from terminal 15n not switched from CAS. Is cas module bad?

really informative thanks for this.. quick question, would a CAS module from a 3series e92 work on a 3series e90? if theyre in the same class would the CAS module be the same so to speak? thanks again

Theoretically that should be okay, although I think that you would have to swap over the other partnering equipment too (ring antenna and DME) since they all communicate with each other.

I have a 2004 Range Rover HSE with 4.4 m63 BMW I sent off ecu and dme and key to be re married I have launch pro mini It’s showing key recognized But says INVALID when last start attempted Regarding code from key Can I get some input please

Interesting, this mechanic put in a N51 cas and dme in my N52 while he works on my cas to add a keyfob. Car starts and drive but I have codes so I don’t bother on driving it. Why are the electronics so damn complicated lol
