Outstanding! These -10AN oil cooler fittings were intimidating at first but I just put together my first fitting by following along with your steps One thing to mention - make sure you clean up the inside of the hose if cutting with a grinder

dude amazing video. honestly i never used the an fitting wrenches, i just used an adjustable wrench. only thing i did different was i wrapped the fitting with a paper towel before i put the adjustable wrench on it to prevent from scratching up the finish of the fittings.

Great video. Thanks so much! I'm using the tight SUMMIT fittings that are a pain in the butt to get over the hose. Did exactly what you suggested but put a steel hose camp over the tape and cut along that. Worked like a charm. Been trying for an hour before I watched your video. Will sooth my bloody fingers now w/ some beers ;-)

A crescent wrench is a DIRECTIONAL tool, you are using it backwards, fyi less chance of slippage. Same with open end wrench

Folks who are impressed by this video don't know the difference between a metric Crescent wrench and a standard Cresent wrench.....
@jameshisself9324 Жыл бұрын
I can not recommend enough that you don't even mess with rubber hose, just build them with PTFE and once complete they will never fail due to hose breakdown. Harder to assemble yes, but worth it in the long run.

First I was impressed by this guys instructions making it look easy, second I was impressed by the fact that he wasn't wearing those pussy surgical gloves like 99% of other modern day video makers wear for some unknown reason. When I first started working on cars if anyone would have put a pair of surgical gloves on, he would have been taken out behind the garage and rightfully roughed up.

You dont need to put lubricant on it. put hose in vice, start with fitting then use a socket to screw it on.

I call bull shiat.. try this with 4an line... fraying is IMPOSSIBLE to prevent./navigate around. Have found ONLY soultion is to force the SS sleeve down ... put fitting on as shown her but JUST on the inner core.. Once your fitting installed.. Tape the SSteel splay of material right at bottom edge of the fitting... then cut off the SS strands VERY CARFULLY. so not to damage the inner core and so not to totalyl FUBAR's the nice fitting.. .. but you will and you will make it look like shit.. then from other end before installing that side..... put a 3/4 shrink rap on it slide it up to your fitting and cover your uggly shiat hack job at base of fitting. On 4an at least, this is a freaking waste of money unless you get it with fittings installed already. Hoping like hell my 6an SSteel line assembly is going to go better. Got like 8 hoses (16 ends) to make compered with just two end on my the 4an. One 4an end took 1.5hours till figured out the work around. Its a return line; so at least it wont suck in air (diesel engine application). did about 16 ends with 10an fittings on nylon strand braid without issue. (remote oil filter/cooler/thermostat) Or I just suck at SSteel braided.. could be that too lol
@coachgeo3 ай бұрын
6an- steel braided.. nope.... complete fail..... the electrical tape is a NO GO. It is to flexible. Answer was SUPERGLUE. then a non stretch tape once dry and then cut with a very fine cut tool with as few mm width as you can muster. . BUT... below 6an.... even this fails... even superglueing the braids.. one layer of stiff tape and superglue that prior to cutting- FAIL city... .. Braids at end of hose still flair ever so tiny amount.. but enough to make it IMPOSSIBLE to install the nut.
