My wife and I lucky to have sen Brian last October in Cincy! Always unbelievable! We’ve seen the Setzer Orchestra 7 times during the Christmas tours and it’s our favorite show to attend!

I’ve seen this show five times and it gets better every time!! Brian Setzer is the King of the Gretsch! Juan and Chris are badass too!!! I would and will travel the world to see him!!! Stray Cats will have some upcoming dates!!! I have to disagree that all rockabilly sounds the same though!!! There’s a lot of talent out there!

I was there, as an early birthday present for my wife. So glad we were there, it was fantastic! A couple of corrections for the setlist thought. 1: Song number 7 was actually 'My One Desire' (not Believe What You Say). Brian also did 4 solo songs; after Lonesome Road, he did Black Mountain Rag (dedicated to his 3rd grade music teacher). I got that from listening back to my audio recording of the show, which is really good, from my pocket recorder. I updated the setlist on SetlistFM. We were on the rail of the balcony and it was a really fun show. I agree that the highlight was the solo guitar set, which was impressive. I didn't know many of the songs either but it was just great energy and fun. The opening act, Yates McKendree, was also very talented and I enjoyed his set as well. I'd rate the show higher, but that's just my opinion. Thanks again, G.

Not a bad review. Brian is a very talented player but mainly a really good person who doesn’t have that. I’m better than you ego. Which is rare! I was there in front last night. Was a great show

Brian is great with his big band, check them out. It's a huge sound, and I know what you mean about the overall Rockabilly sound - but his big band is like a wall of sound coming right at you. Among others in the 1950s, Carl Perkins was the godfather of Rockabilly. It's one genre of music that can be traced directly to it's birth. Carl was the man. Find his videos on KZbin from 1985 when he jams with George Harrison, Clapton, Ringo, and several other heavyweights. Hope you like it. Rock on.

These Japanese guys are super cool, they did the whole Stray Cats European tour of 2019. I did the 4 UK shows from Scotland. Travel, hotels etc, expensive, so how they manage this? Good on them. I even meet the Guy and his wife that bought Brian’s Indian. Plus he knew me 😊 Such a cool time😊

Hey, @JIV. Welcome to the future. Other genres you will want to google are "jump blues" and jump bands, "rhythm & blues" and "boogie woogie". Also "Lindy hop" dancing. All were fantastic fun transtional genres that America produced in the middle of the 20th century. imma bet you f'ing love jump blues and Lindy hop.

I saw the show in Oakland. I've been into rockabilly since 1981. I missed a chance to see the Stray Cats in 1981. I agree with you regarding the sameness of the music but you can't look at rockabilly through the lens of only the Stray Cats or Brian Setzer. There are a lot of the artists that incorporate the other influences that give it a different sound and pace but still retain the style. That being said, it was a great show.

Love The Stray Cats. They brought 50's Rockabilly into the 80's. I remember their 3 top 10 hits "Rock This Town", "Stray Cat Strut", and "(She's) Sexy +17". Brian Seltzer is very talented. Although, as you said, they don't have the versatility, Rockabilly fans should be pleased with the show.

Any of the superfans know why he didn't play "Jump Jive and Wail" (or really any of the BSO era songs?)

Did he happen to sing "Knife Feels Like Justice"? It was a solo (minor) hit for him. Great tune and so different from his rockabilly stuff.

Agree to disagree with all respect 🙏. I listen to your review ,and you said it all sounds the same to you. Thats were i dont agree with you, if you take all genres of music, it all has the same progressions, styles, in a particular kind of music you like. If I listen to house r&b or metal ,it also sounds the same to me . But if i listen deeper and take more time to listen, i start noticing the difference in songs . So i understand ,but i dont agree🙏👍🤣
@JoeInVegasReviews8 ай бұрын
Thanks for listening I appreciate it. The truth is you're probably right but you need to listen to it a lot to start to discover the nuances of the songs. As someone who doesn't listen to this genre and just went to a show on the surface level it all sounds the same. But like I said it's a great sound. But I'm sure if I listen to it over and over again I will discover the complexities and the differences in each song

I dunno, man. The least you coulda done was find out the names of the other two guys in the band. I mean, if you can't even be bothered to do some minor research, then I can't be bothered to watch the rest of your "review." No cred. I bailed at 3:50.

hahah.. oh no.. what will i do.. i am heartbroken, how will i survive.. seriously? whats wrong with you? someone needs a hug! thanks for the 3:50 of your life.. im soooooo sorry i didnt research the name of the other two guys for you.. i dont have any cred, never claimed to have any cred, dont want any cred, i just goto shows, get drunk and listen to music and report back MY OPINION. but thanks for helping with the algorithms.
