Hi! Before you comment, please note that this video was made in Summer 2019, so a lot of it is outdated! Meredith North and South are not included, and neither are the other residence halls that have opened since 2019. In addition, I graduated in May 2020 so my answers to your questions won’t be helpful, because I don’t know how housing has changed in the past two years. All that being said, I hope this video helped! :)

Interesting stuff. Full disclosure, I graduated in 1981, so some of the halls weren't built yet, "dining courts" weren't a thing, all of that. I spent two years in Cary SE (a double), 1 year in Cary West (a single), and a year off-campus on Pierce Street (a house that's no longer there). Sounds like the renovations have been a big step up.

I just want to point out that there are way more than 4 shower stalls on each floor of Wiley. I lived there last year and there’s like 10 per floor. I think it’s 5 per wing, but the wings are not separated by anything and are only like a couple rooms separated from each other; however, it is now a male only dorm just FYI.
@mayasanaba3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out! I got all my information about halls I had not lived in from people who had lived there, so i apologize for the mistake. Also, many things have changed about the halls in the two years since I’ve made this! :)

Hi Maya! I’m going to purdue next fall and I was wondering what the bathroom situation is at each hall. You mentioned renovated bathrooms but which ones are community bathrooms and which are suite style bathrooms?

Hi Sasha! I’m sorry to not be more helpful, but things have changed a lot since I made this two years ago and graduated last year, so I’m not sure!

Hi, Maya! I'm flying to Purdue this fall. Do you have any idea about housing for married students? Hopefully, you would make a video to review such a family housing.

How much smaller is the economy double compared to the standard double. Do you know by any chance if it'll be like a bunkbed situation in the economy double at the meredith hall?
@mayasanaba4 жыл бұрын
Hello! The Economy Double is significantly smaller than the standard double. Many people say that a good thing about living on a floor of economy doubles is that it forces you to keep your doors open and interact with the people on your floor! I know people who have lived in them all four years because of the great community. :)

Did housing price change when you transferred between dorms?
@mayasanaba4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it did! If you transfer between semesters, you pay 50% of the cost of where you lived before and then 50% of the cost of the place you're moving to!

@@mayasanaba so then which dorm is the one that costs about 10k for room and board, if you know?

@@aaxeljinx2812 You can visit Purdue's housing website to see room rates here: www.housing.purdue.edu/Housing/Rates.html, the fourth bullet point has a link to the Room Rates Tool.

Sis please give me advice how to get into it? How did you prepare from your senior year of high school for this university? I too want to join. Is there provision of yearly scholarship or only for freshman ? If there is no scholarship provided can we manage cost of attendance all by ourselves by working or we have to take the help of family? How much does family need extra to pay yearly? Please sis help me for this info.
@JammyLuvszYew5 жыл бұрын
Aakriti Karki I got into Purdue with a 1210 SAT and 4.0 weighted gpa. I applied early action and got the freshman scholarships. But even if you missed that there’s other scholarships available depending on if you’re from in-state, out-of-state, then international. If your in-state obviously it would be cheaper. Cost is roughly $23,000 and I got all paid for by scholarships provided by Purdue. There’s a pool of scholarships open each year so apply to the ones you can.
@patato_potato62364 жыл бұрын
I mean it really just depends what you plan on majoring in. Purdue is known for their engineering program so if you are majoring in engineering, it’s going to be extremely competitive and difficult to get into. But if it’s something that’s political science you can probably get by with a 3.0-3.5 gpa.
@Turtle-.-4 жыл бұрын
@@patato_potato6236 Yeah I got into Political Science with a 3.2 gpa, but I had a 1550 SAT. They offered me admissions to their honors college and told me that I could dual degree through their degree+ program to get a second degree in computer engineering within my 4 years at Purdue. I haven't committed yet, but its super tempting.

Purdue sounds awful with housing right now… with the cramming 3-4 students in rooms meant for 2 people and the auxiliary housing..
