I actually enjoyed the beginning of the series. It was nice that stands didn't show up for a while and it felt refreshing to me that it was just a horse race in the beginning and more layers were added to it as I read.

My biggest issue was the fact that gyro was so good at horse riding, like we don't see any reason why he should be as good as he is, I get in the final dashes that he generally uses the spin to his advantage, but compared to the rest of the racers, many of whom are have spent their whole lives horse racing, it feels weird. Plus how Johnny and Gyro were able to do so well despite running about the place constantly due to the corpse parts.

I am a huge fan of Steel Ball Run and definitely don't agree with some of your takes on the series, but I can respect that your being honest about how you feel about it and not spouting bs to please the sbr loving Viewers. I can definitely see why it's not for everyone. Good video.

Thanks. Even though parts of the video did seem negative, SBR is my 3rd favorite part honestly. Cause at least it's tone and structure are consistent throughout the story. I like that.

@@adamshadow9881 I respect you for spitting your own opinions while being very reasonable. SBR isn’t my top 1 either because of my personal bias. Having Johnny be an asshole does a good job for setting a precedent in the new universe when you see Josuke do some crazy shit in part 8 the same way it does with Jonathan having us understand why Jotaro has a kindness in him despite being an asshole most of the time. Great video with better editing than most bigger channels

I gave you the sub solely you spoke for yourself with the Ringo arc. I love it, sure, it’s good, and it’s very very entertaining. But is it THAT high as stand out in SBR for THE MOST iconic fight? It doesn’t, not really. It’s a really cool fight, explained the concept of dark determination but uh, that’s kinda it. The ringo fight wasn’t suppose to be “one of the best”, but serve as an intro to the crazier fights that would happen later on. Which, it served its purpose for perfectly dragged my interest into it. Personally, I do consider Sugar Mountain arc has more drama than Ringo arc. You don’t need dramatic fighting sequences to make an arc great. Edit: Your fav from SBR is dino Diego and Lucy, you are my fav youtuber now. Edit 2: We have the same opinion on sugar mountain arc!! Edit 3: Absolute fax on Lucy being best girl in JJBA. She’s my top 3 fav for same reason as yours (and Diego is no.2, Johnny is no.1 simply cuz I have so many traumas and stories share in common with him, and some certain thing happened in cough cough part 8 or whatever)

All the most important characters feel like real people with their constant reassessing of a situation as they grow and adapt to their rapidly changing circumstances. All this while dealing with tricky thematic subject matter in a wild, yet easygoing escalation and incredible conclusion. As Johnny says at the end, this was a story of him learning to walk. Much like Stone Ocean, its crazy how much thematic exposition was going on right from the outset and was not even noticing because the dialogue is so natural. Better than Stone Ocean, of course, though that Part did a solid job with F.F. It respects the reader's intelligence and that's why it's respected so much. We learn about why Gyro lied to Johnny at the beginning about how the spin could help him walk without the plot simply stopping to explain. He knew it was not his place to try to determine what side of the net the tennis ball would fall on with Johnny, though his compassionate nature settled on how he could provide the data for Johnny to arrive at the answer of his own accord. "Learning to walk," indeed. What a beautiful story.

And totally agree with the Catch the Rainbow arc, I would say that’s when SBR really started to figure out where it wanted to go and hit its stride and actually got me really invested in the mystery of the corpse, Valentine, and figure out more about Johnny & Gyro (which are perfect deuteragonsts imo)

I loved the beginning of the part. I like that they focus on establishing the characters verses getting into stand fights immediately, the beginning fights were ok but i think it was worth trading off the cool stand stuff while they established the relationship between Gyro and Johnny. I like that the two of them aren't friends or even really allies at the start, and that Johnny has to use his knowledge of racing to earn Gyro's respect by forcing Gyro to pay attention to him. And the spin was great, it made the buildup to Tusk super cool because johnny basically does nothing fight wise for the entire start and its really refreshing to see a jojo who isnt broken from the start of the story. I thought the race was decently interesting and i like that Johnny has a different motivation than winning the race, the fact that he doesn't end up winning is also great, i think it would have been tacky. And i appreciate the slow pace they were going for at the start. Also I agreed about the catch the rainbow arc that fight was goated. Super underrated arc, and i do think it's better than the Ringo fight

Valentine is wrong when he chooses wrong path to achieve his goal.

I would argue SBR is overhyped, it’s a great part and I think it has the best character work and design but people make it seem like it’s the only part that matters in JoJo’s like it’s a biblical text, it’s a great part but I would say it’s on par with JoJolion, Stone Ocean & Vento Aureo

"The ringo Road Again fight is okay at best" finally someone with an opinion, I swear to god, they fanboys for part 7 ruined my experience with the manga, with all the unnecesary praise and hype. The ringo fight was ok, but people treat it like the best fight vs a minor villain ever just because ringo had a little more of depth as a character and a backstory, which is not something exclusive to this fight, araki has done that before and after. the fight overall was better than average, but ok at the end of the day. Also, I couldn't care less about johnny. Gyro, Diego and Valentine are the reasons why I like part 7 overall.
