As a classical and also modern musician, this is super helpful for practice in particular. Theres a whole lot of uses for the programming side of it especially with long orchestral movements that change tempo or change time signatures. I feel like its way more helpful in classical music than any modern music.

Had mine for a couple of months now setting it up for different common bpms for every day of the week. I tested it out in my mates studio and I can confirm that it’s super useful to teach you accuracy for BPMs without a click track on a DAW giving the recordings a polish (maybe not for the average joe but a damn useful tool if you session a lot)

I have been using mine actually for a absolutely different purpose. Its Great for speed shooting and 3 gun training and can see decibels. They really need to try to go more for the sport shooters out there

I'm a drummer from Costa Rica. Not like a pro, music is just a hobby for me but I've been doing shows for several years now. Because me and my band we don't do professionally and because our scene is very basic/not pro, the chances you are going to have a decent backline are very minimal. When we are on stage, basically we are on our own, so, because of that, if you want to use a metronome while playing, literally your only option is to bring your own with your headset and try to balance it with to whole external noise. Most of the time that doesn't go well. With that said, this friend sounds like a good option. I've been tried yet but I'm getting mine in a couple of weeks and I'm pretty excited about it.

How has the watch worked in performance? This may be out of the blue considering your comment is 8 months old, but was kind of curious.

The regular version is 230 usd. That is a pretty nice price since the pulse is 100 and something usd. Im a samsung user and not a performing musician and an inear rig is too expensive to me so I think for practicing and being outside it will be awesome

So Wyatt, thanks for taking the time to do this review. I scored one for around 120 bucks, as the Core "special creators edition".. Im curious to see how this pans out, if it has more than just a sticker inside the box. I happen to fall into that category you used as it being beneficial to & I want to use it for an idea or better said, experiment of trying 30 days of sleeping with a metronome. that's gotta also be good for that.

I'm thinking about get this products for my acoustique playing with my band. When I play with my band I wear some ear protection that doesn't change the sound (I hear the same with or without my ear protection, it's just less louder) So I prefer wear this rather than InEar and in this case I think this product can be realy cool
@metalinyourhead36043 жыл бұрын
This could have been useful for me awhile back. We did an acoustic cover of Space Oddity and I was singing. I didn’t notice that because there was no beat (there was no percussion) I was slowing down just a tiny bit and the rest of the band had to compensate for me slowing down. So this could have been handy.

The question is would you be able to feel it over the vibration of an acoustic and the rest of the band? My concern would be “Am I feeling it right?”

Definitely too expensive for how useful it can be, but another application I thought of is you can use a stopwatch/timer to help remember when section changes are coming up in a song. I've played in some bands with repetitive songs and it could be helpful to know "oh a minutes passed its about time for the next section"

How about the difference between hearing a click and feeling a click? I always find the audible click spoils a lot of the fun of playing - which is hearing what you're playing. Do you have any thoughts on that?
@thebritishguys63043 жыл бұрын
I have just received mine and it is a very surreal feeling, it’s taking some getting used to because as a drummer, I’m used to hearing a sound of a drum and a vibration so it feels like the Soundbrenner should be making a sound whilst it’s vibrating. It’s definitely getting easier.

it's good that they dropped the price quite a lot since this was released, it seems like a good product but for the prices they were originally going for, no way. In a lot of ways it is functionally a smartwatch with an overenthusiastic vibrator motor, though I do admit it has a lot of power. The tuner seems really responsive, not that I'd expect anything less from the developers of the most well-known tuning app.

For an acoustic solo performer or duo, would I use this or single in-ear headphone controlled from an Apple Watch with actual drums or backing track? I’d trust that setup. Maybe I’ll try the Pulse with their holiday return policy.

I hate in-ears, they bother my ears and hurt. A click track had always seemed sterile to me, and while I can play to one set to sound like a kick drum, a straight click doesn't work for me. Being able to feel the beat might work really well for me. I could see this working fairly well for me as a smartwatch, and the fact that, while you give it 3 stars, you end it with "I'm still going to be using it" and basically give the rundown of "it does all of these things when taken solo mean nothing since I have individual devices that can do that" but the underlying implicit that was not stated is you now have a single device that does it all, so it's a quality of life improvement. And, were you to bother spending the time, it would also get your phone notifications. Ergo, it's a more than functional smartwatch, and while you don't ultimately recommend it with the phrase "I recommend this," again, the implicit via quality of life improvement+how well it performs said QoL functions find it receiving a recommendation by default.

do not get this product. the double tap to start the metronome stopped working after not even a week. when i asked team about it, they told me it was a known bug and gave me a fix which worked for a day before issue arised again. the main draw of this is supposed to be convenience, a metronome on your wrist that you can use whenever you sit down to practice, instead it becomes more of a hassle, save yourself the money and stick with a metronome or aphone app

The only way to make this desirable is if they add app functionality for some of the main music tools I use. Shazam and SoundHound would be such obvious tools to have in there.
