Comedies are pretty great in the theater, too, but they kind of take on a life of their own. In the theater you get the build of other people finding things hilarious and laughing out loud alongside you, but then you also get a bunch of lines swallowed up by the uproar. I can appreciate both experiences.

Ugh, both lists sucked. Almost Famous is absolutely only enjoyable to people who write about other people who are cooler than they are. It's the ultimate "what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall" movie. But Sideways is guh-huh-huh-harbage. Every male character in that movie is risible and despicable. Paul Giamatti STEALING MONEY FROM HIS MOM to open the movie. Gratuitous dong shots. Thomas Haden Church plays a scumbag. I wanted a refund on the 2 hours of my life I spent watching it. Here's a list of actual watchable movies that won Golden Globes: The Martian, Romancing the Stone, Lost in Translation, The Hangover, The Longest Yard. If you like animated stuff, Lion King, Toy Story 2, and Beauty and the Beast can get thrown in there. Everything else is a tryhard film with a very specific audience.
