Last weekend I woke up at 2:30 on Saturday, drove 9 hours down to Kings Dominion (I live in Boston), stayed there all day, slept from 10:30-6am, then drove the 10 hours back home. When I was consulting, before COVID, if I could do a trip in a day trip I did it. I live in Fort Lauderdale and frequently had to go to NYC. I had a coworker that lived in NYC. He knew to schedule our meetings just before or just after lunch. I could get on a 5:00 am non-stop, he would pick me up at 9:30, we go do our thing, have lunch and he would drop me off at the airport for a 6:00 pm flight and I would be home in bed by 10:00. So many benefits; saved my company an overnight hotel stay, no rental car, no dinner or breakfast expense, and no dragging my suitcase. Loved those. The only way to travel.

Truly a world class park. I live in Orlando but BGT is what I consider my home park. I didn’t catch his name, but the dude you rode with who said he’s been on IG over 2k times is always there when I go. He’s a legend. And yes, weekdays have horrible ops, but the trade off is that the park is empty so everything is a walk on. Glad you had fun.

My siblings & I had one of the 1st reverse pov vids ever recorded on Montu. My Uncle & his friend managed to sneak a Hi-8 video camera on the ride back in the mid-90’s. That was a miracle feat because camcorders weren’t very compact back then. He sat in the row in front of us & his wide angle converter was just wide enough to film me & my 2 siblings. It’s still tons of fun to watch.

Craziest "day trip" I did was for Buzzed Bars Coaster Club's Stumble325. Left Columbus, OH at 2am to arrive at Carowinds for opening. Partied the entire day with BBCC, slept at the Carowinds Springhill Suites for 4 hours, woke up at 4am to drive back home. It was brutal, but 100% worth it. ETR and the Coaster Idiots should definitely come to SooperDooperStumble at Hershey in September, it's going to be lit!

I had an insane trip once in Florida. Spent the week pulling 10+ hour days working a trade show. Booked a flight at 2 am from Florida to Charlotte. Getting an Uber at that time was crazy. Arrived in Charlotte before my hotel room was available. Dropped my bags and I was starving. Having only had a few hours of sleep and a dining plan, it seemed like a good place to go for food. I then spent the time running around all day at the park. Finally, almost falling a sleep well, eating a slice of pizza across from vortex. Guess I should have done more laps on after burn, needed those Gs to keep me awake.

Hey, Ryan. I'm in Albuquerque. Sort of a quiet about my enthusiasm, but my girlfriend and I love the channel! All we've really got is the New Mexico Rattler out here at Cliff's, and seasons passes ran out when I went to purchase one, so in retaliation, I decided I was going to go ride Gwazi and do dumb damage to my savings account. Literally flying out Thursday night, sleeping on a plane (maybe), spending all Friday at the park, overnight in some AirBnb camper, then flying back Saturday morning. I visited Busch Gardens Tampa for the first time last Thursday May 18th. there was absolutely no one in the park, hardly anyone in line for Iron Gwazi. each dispatch was in the 180-250 second range. a 2 train wait was almost 10 minutes, insane.

My friends and I in Colorado have an annual 24Hr trip where we all call in sick and the yearly leader gets to drag us all to have an epic day wherever they want, without exceeding $400 per person. We’ve been 24Hr tourists in DC, we flew to Seattle for a rainy hike and a concert, and last year we stayed up all night in Las Vegas. 2 years ago, I made us all fly to LA for a day at Magic Mountain like this, topped off with a sunset at Venice Beach. My friends are definitely not enthusiasts like me and so a rapid fire sequence of Twisted Colossus, Scream, the pendulum flat ride, Riddler’s Revenge, and Batman the Ride finally made my best friend vomit after unloading from Batman. Good times 😂

Went to BGT last weekend for the first time and I'm damn glad we started with Iron Gwazi too, even tho the wait sucked. Dispatches regularly between 3 and 4 minutes. I was with my cousin who used to be a ride op at Disney and he was laughing at how horrendous the dispatches were too. And we even got the station breakdown!

I sort of do the day trip thing. I'm a pilot for a living and sometimes get long overnights. Last month was able to do Busch Gardens Tampa and Six Flags over Texas. I plan to his Six Flags New England next month at least. Maybe something in Albuquerque. Its a pretty sweet gig to get paid to ride coasters.

We‘ve done a day Trip like that to Efteling. We drove 6.5h in the morning to the Park, stayed the full opening time at the Park, 12h and drove the 6.5h back home. It was an unreal experience but totally worth it ;)

I've done this several times from PVD to MCO for SeaWorld orlando. I'm not sure where I got the idea from but it was insane while planning for it. Then once I did it once, it felt normal to do day trips there again with little to no planning. I've probably done at least 5 day trips to SeaWorld. I haven't done a day trip to BGT though because my airport sucks and flights to tpa are expensive and limited. I've also driven to / from SFGAV, BGW and KD, and Hershey park all in the same day from RI. It all started with the day trip idea to SeaWorld.
