lol I’m on an igloo playmate streak this week, I just picked up a 98’ elite for like $1 today. A little dinged up but I needed something to replace my aging 70s one with cracks finally starting to form in the lid. Not the biggest fan of the new ones because of problems like this though but I might bite the bullet and grab a new full sized playmate soon since my 1980 red one is about to bite the dust from me using it for years and years

Turtle soup LMAO!!! I got a special edition playmate from Amazon and the lid makes a lot of scraping noise whenever I open or close it so I'm checking out videos now to see if that's a normal noise & both of your lids are noisy so thanks for sharing

I believe all playmates that opens with the button in the handle they all scratch the sides when you open them. I dont believe this happens with the ones that you open the lid by pressing the button on the side. I believe with time it will scratch less and less.

KZbin has a video to fix these, it takes 2 minutes and a screwdriver. Maybe your wife can go buy you a screwdriver?
