As a fan of siege ironhide&crosshairs,I think the earthrise mold does a pretty good job,the shield partsforming is kinda pointless and stupid,but in my opinion it gave the toy even more playability,and with ss86 ironhide,I think we will finally start getting a really great ironhide toys besides masterpiece and earthrise(universe ironhide is a complete disaster),Earthrise ironhide was one of my favorurite earthrise molds along with snapdragon,scorponok,the powerdashers and astrotrain,I love that figure even more with this redeco,I hope if the ss86 ironhide mold is going to be repainted and retooled into g1 camshaft or bot con 2016 g1 oil slick

I almost regretted ordering him in the days leading to mine's arrival. But once I had him....I now slightly regretted winning that bid for ER Ironhide (though he has SOME sentimental value due to being my first eBay bid AND win). You're right, he just FEELS and LOOKS better. EASILY the best use of the mold. You probably already heard me on the Discord saying that while I do think the partsforming could be something done without, this one doesn't bother me as much on Guard, coz...well, the name. Ironhide too if you prefer his Animated-based defense style rather than his G1 and Bayverse dakka style. And, I mean, those aren't mutually exclusive anyway. Either way, at least it actually looks like it could tank some of the strongest shots out there. With SS86 coming up, and the fact that you were never an upgrade kit guy, I figured you probably aren't going to get the Nonnef feet like i did, though at least you saw what it looked like on mine. I'm oddly not a fan of the SS86 version, but I can respect it. I dunno what I'll do with my ER Ironhide, but Guard here is already my acting Ironhide, also with Crosshairs' hammerzooka (since he has actual Pinpointer anyway) And your SG Ratchet's breakage scares me from my imminent disassembly, though not a total deterance.

the mold grew on me surprisingly, have the sg ratchet painted in regular ratchet colors and I love it's look actually. Still not sure if I want it as an ironhide to go with it though.

This is another issue I have with hasbro doing G1 so much: It takes them 4 attempts in as many years to get to the figure that everyone ACTUALLY wanted, which is the SS86 Ironhide. I got the siege one and it was fun but ultimately didn't impress me. And the earthrise having a HUGE chunk of partsforming roof is just lame to me.

Yeah, just try to think of that "parts forming roof" as a throw back to the original g1 toy. That's why it makes sense to have all the repaints or select figures with this design and not the ss version. These guys will still have a place in the collection as the toy versions and the ss version will be the true to character version.

I pair my Earthrise Ironhide with the sled as a shield and The Last Knight Cogman's sword. I find the sled on this mold only really works if you go full sword-and-shield, I've got Shattered Glass Ratchet AND Earthrise Ratchet, and I don't think it really works *aesthetically* in any other configuration. I agree with what you said, it should've gone full-G1 with some tank treads. Since Selects doesn't really have a set price point, they should've packed in some appropriately-coloured treads from the Cog mold. Ah, maybe they want us to buy Red Cog for that

I don't know if you know this or not but there is a 3D printed feet for this mold that gives it more accurate doors in a vehicle mode I remember lazy eyebrow reviewer made some and some other people as well I think you should try it at least for the shattered glass ratchet give it some white shoes

I think the er van mold has always been a g1 toy nod and was meant to be that. Where as the 86 mold was to be animation. As the diaclone deco was toy based it makes more sense in this mold than the 86 version.

I got the Earthrise Ironhide and it...had...SO...many color variations. It was supposed to be a muted red but it had 4-5 different shades of red. It irked me so bad that I sold it. Hoping the Studio Series Ironhide will be better but before I knew about that I got Guard and it DOES look a whole lot better. It really gives justice to this mold.

Because i did not get Ironhide Earthrise, since it was... stupid exclusive., i decided to get this one as it was cheaper, and ... its my ironhide from another universe. And i actually love him . The "shield" you can also used it on his back for some sick poses, or to help with them. I adore his gun, which looks way better then most guns in legacy...I don't know. Most weapons on legacy ..something's off, and i can't put my finger exactly on what. Still , better van then SS86, specially sold as voyager. I refuse that bullshit pulling hasbro.

I have the nonnef productions upgrade kit foot replacement for earthrise ironhide. They do look alot better but I had an issue with mine. toyhax actually came out with sticker sets for nonnef productions upgrade kits. Well some of them anyway. But ironhides replacement feet are one of them.
