Need Tiamat for that Diamond Armor Rules . Every game I've watched and seen in almost every battle report the nids get shot off the table, only winning via points.
@alecxandergreen2472 Жыл бұрын
I mean.. points are you how you win games. Lol also if you peep lore all the bugs have to do is survive until the planet is terraformed. Then it's gg no matter how you slice it lol

Just when we were getting our primearch level tyranid baddie we got a haruspex/tyrannofex combo with some support buffs. Its not bad by any means but it feels like the cost/value isnt there. But nobody can doubt that model its amazingly horrifying.

The Emissary is a versatile tank while the Assimilator is an offensive anti-big thing Hunter

In synaptic nexus. This thing can be an absolute tank. I sat it on a mid field objective. Venomthropes giving cover and then the strat for -1 ap on enemy attacks. Its amazing to see things with ap3 and he is still on a 3+ save. Then if anything gets through he still has the 5+++

Been using mine as an agro unit. He alone can takes a flank. A hauraspex and friends run center and 20 Hormogaunts take the opposite flank. When those are my opponents options, the Norn seems to work well for me. Prefer the melee build verse the brain boy. Can see play with both.

I’ve played with it and also found it really useful. I think it’s 4/5. The damage per point is underwhelming but that dilemma it forces on opponents is great - attack this and get inefficient damage while the rest of our army causes havoc; or concede a no man’s land objective and let it chip away at their army from a central location. That’s why the versatility of the damage is helpful - he’s central so he supports on lots of objectives like assassination, bring it down, to improve the odds for the specialists.
@AngelofDeath333 Жыл бұрын
You play 6 of these, 3 of each in the Synaptic Nexus detachment
@cryptococcusneoformans2389 Жыл бұрын
Its stuck on weird place. Its lack of dmg per cost if not use singular purpose. And singular purpose can be couter by pull back the unit that being target. The point capture one is good but for tyranid have other better unit for like yeet random gaunt which also garuntee cap oc either.

Such a cool model! I m 9h in painting the Emissary. Your rating seems fair, maybe even 5 starts, for het flexibility.
@AshenHawk96 Жыл бұрын
Literally just started painting the model as this got uploaded 😂

I've been running 2 and having them sit on objectives and they're very hard to kill with the feel no pain.

Never thought of 2 really. Sounds crazy

I’m going to run an Emissary and Assimilator together as a Sword and Shield tactic

@@Planet40kTyranidsI run three. Paired with a ripper swarm and a neurolictor, it can't be shifted or have onbjectives taken away.

I think its over-costed. It's an awesome model with lackluster rules compared to the ~300 pt models other factions can field. I give it 3/5. Drop the cost to 275 and give it the character keyword. Otherwise it's a points sink with a giant bullseye on its back.
@Nova63_ Жыл бұрын
Once you give it the character keyword it would be able to take the -1 damage enhancement from synaptic nexus making it virtually unkillable on an objective, this would be too strong.
@sockylogic2014 Жыл бұрын
@@Nova63_ so? its a 315 point model by that point. It should be nigh unkillable. Besides compare it to things like Mortarian, who has better stats, better weapons, a permanent 5+ feel no pain, and variable auras. This as a character is not to strong. But it is way over-costed as it currently is.
@Nova63_ Жыл бұрын
@@sockylogic2014 unkillable alone isn't the issue, unkillable whilst being OC15 is. Transcendent C'tan does the unkillable thing better than just about anything else, and that has OC4
@sockylogic2014 Жыл бұрын
@@Nova63_ I disagree. Its OC 15 on a single objective. Everywhere else it has no feel no pain and OC 5. If you go second against a shooting army, it dies round 1. If you can't get it to its target objective round one, it dies. If you get it to the objective, all the opponent has to do is ignore it. It is not OP as a character that costs over 300 pts. But as it is now, 290 for its current stats is mid-tier if you are being generous.
@Nova63_ Жыл бұрын
@@sockylogic2014 I disagree, 300 points to virtually guarantee holding a midfield objective for the game unless your opponent has a rather extreme amount of shooting required to remove an emissary with both -1 damage and armour of contempt in cover on turn one regardless of the 5+ fnp is too strong. Don't forget also that if they're dedicating most of their shooting into this thing that only costs about 1/6 of your points then you're still winning, for the same reason shooting at the transcendant C'tan isn't worth it either. I do think it needs a points cut since they don't hit very hard (though I would much prefer they keep the cost and buff the output, but they won't do that...) but it is certainly understandable why they don't want it to be a character when that specific enhancement exists.
@sebastianrubin7476 Жыл бұрын
Norns have proven... not amazing, but solid - I think they're just about right. Any cheaper, and they'd be too much of an auto-take. Any more expensive, abd they'd be casual games only.
@samuelfry8192 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely STUNNING model I’m in love with it! However 290 points for 6 strength 9 attacks 😬😬😬 It’s a oversized overpriced hive tyrant but twice the size!! It should be at least S12 with 10 attacks like a dreadnought, Assimilator should be S14 Everything else is really good
@Planet40kTyranids Жыл бұрын
Don’t forget the shooting, the oc the fnp the synapse. I think realistically 270 is a better points area
@samuelfry8192 Жыл бұрын
@@Planet40kTyranids yeah it’s got decent everything else I’d be happy to pay 275-300 if it was S12 with 10 attacks. It hits like a hive tyrant quite embarrassing really for the model

Pretty let down on it's size when compared to the "big" guys from other armies when Tyranids are supposed to be big and frightening

For its cost you can get another haruspex and exocrine... or a maleceptor and another of those two and the maleceptor is so much better than it. You are throwing matches by taking it.
