Love it. Great layout and sweet lighting design. The wallpaper is cool too, although I'm sure you could do with some acoustic panels. Maybe home made ones, with your favourite movie images in greys and blacks printed on the fabric, so the look of the room isn't compromised.

Looks great. What acoustical treatments do you have as I don't see any? Also, wouldn't the Atmos sound be better with the side and rear surrounds lower to get more separation between the bed layer and overhead speakers? Like I said though, it looks awesome!

Thanks for your feedback! The room is not 100 % complete. Acoustical treatments will be going in behind the screen as well as the walls. I agree with you on the rear speaker placements but due to obstructions I had to mount them a little higher. The side surrounds are 2 ft above the MLP and there is no way to lower the in ceiling Atmos. Either way it sounds amazing compared to when I had the equipment in my open concept basement.

@@smkss0104 You don't want to lower the Atmos/DTS X ceiling speakers. As the higher they are gives a greater effect. Like the previous person said in a Atmos/DTS X set up you should have the side and rear surrounds at ear level. You really should have positioned them at ear level during construction. Have done proper research on correct speaker placement long before even starting the construction. Now you will have to spend unnecessary money fixing your mistakes. But having them correctly at ear level will make a noticeable difference for the better. Still a nice clean contemporary looking home theatre. Lastly acoustic room treatments is the biggest factor in sound quality in any theatre. It's a night and day difference with and without acoustic room treatments.

@@C--A Side surrounds are 2 ft above ear level. The back are higher due to structural obstructions, (no choice). I did do my research and this is not my first theater room. As we all know there is no perfect room and we have to make the best of it. :) Custom AT panels are being made as we speak.

The space in both yours and his theater looks to be about the same. What is an ideal space needed for a movie theater setup like this? With the same seating and all?

It is about the same however his is more open in the front , u fortunately mine is restricted due to structure beams. Mine and his are close 13x20 (now about 11x20 due to the 2 ft lost for speakers and false wall behind the screen. For two rows should not go before about 17 ft at the least
