My mum is Dutch and my dad Indian, they met and fell in love with each other 35 years ago, this was when my mum went over to travel in India. I am married to an Indian lady myself and live in Ireland for the last 6 years , my son is born here and will have indo irish roots.

I know many girls not from Indian culture who were involved with Indian men and eventually the guys had to break up with the girls because the parents would not allow them to marry. It still happens alot. In India, here in Canada and in other countries. My husband and I are blessed that my in-laws did accept me. I was very worried about this. Even if his family would have not agreed, my husband would not have broken up with me; however we feel blessed that they did accept our relationship. Good luck with your relationship 🙏

One of my coworker black girl approached me all of sudden and asked me a questions. I don't know why she thought I am the right person to answer her question. She asked me" Are India boys allowed to date with girls of other culture? Does religion allow them to do so" I was at first uncomfortable to answer her question because I am not an Indian, I am Nepali though we have so many things in common. When I realized her question was very innocent and honest, I answered her that it is not religion that prohibits dating girls or guys of another culture but it is family prestige related to wealth and beauty. Actually the girl who have asked him the question has been dating with Indian guy and he is not thinking about building relationship for long term. Once she explained me about her story, I hope, I cleared her doubt that it is not religion but family issues. Family wants beautiful white or yellow or fair skin girls come to their home as a bride. They also sometimes bargain for dowry from girls family, which is very evil. In your case, your skin, beauty and American citizenship will help nullify all family issues.

lol, that's not the actual issue. Issue for most comes down to family pressures, cultural and food habits and how he/she will adopt. Religion and money are not that important for most part. Money is important but usually Indians prefer to date who have the same economic/intellectual stature, this is also changing while India is going through rapid urbanization.

Whereas I moved from Pune, India for my Masters back in 2015 as well. This story takes me back the memory lane and makes me all nostalgic about how I met Rachael too. @@colleensohan3717 Sure, that sounds great. Raleigh is good location for going to the mountains on the west or the beach towards the east. Asheville and Boone in NC are beautiful and romantic mountain towns which is something you guys would definitely enjoy since there are some beautiful scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway and some scenic hikes as well. Rachael and I had planned our first trip together to Asheville around 3 years back. Also, Smoky Mountain National Park is a 4.5 hour drive away which is jointly shared by Tennessee, Virginia and NC. Wilmington, NC, Emrald Isle, New Bern, Carolina Beach are some beautiful beaches to the east of Raleigh. Can definitely help more for specific details on places and things to explore.

Namaste nice video, nice love story you both have I and my husband enjoyed listening to it, My husband is from Mumbai India we met when my mom's convenient store where she normally gets her cigarettes was closed and she needed them so I went pulled into this gas station was on the beachside Indialantic Florida where I met my Indian man, at first there was a lot of nice looking Indian men and Raj was the one who came up and handled my purchasing, and we chatted he asked me out and swapped phone numbers after he got off work we hung out and found we had lots in common, I told him how much I love India and the culture and movies he was very impressed with me he fell in love with me and after few dates he asked me to marry him and so we married on the beach, was lovely too and we been married now 17 yrs going on 18 yrs in Sept we married the first day of Autumn so where ever the Autumn is that's when we celebrate, we made it special that way and we go to Hindu Temples together just love being best friends.
