Khamakhani, my great grandfather Shrimant Ranaji sahoram is the person at 0:13 second from the right. He was the serving court connosiuer, he told my grandfather many tales of the maharajah and his valor, the fall of Kashmir, attack of the Pakistani army in 47. We got pictures ,the ancestral archives and a few swords from those times. Currently working in Wales, as a professor of English, it gives me immense pleasure and nostalgia to watch this video.

I also had same thoughts after reading a few books from history. A few good leaders were there but maximum with their mustaches rolled up lived in mercy of british. There are severals instances and real examples where these spineless kings were like literally begging Britishers. Most were simply greedy and even gave their daughters to Muslim rulers just so they could hold on to whatever was left of their kingdom. The biggest problem in this part of the world was that these kings thought they were the best and there was no competition outside. Due to this attitude their asses got handed back to them by invaders.
