As it stands, there is zero motivation for a driver to attempt overtaking. The top half are content with playing follow-the-leader, collecting their points, and packing up for the next race venue. They could improve the quality of racing at MC with a few easy fixes. Mandate 3 tyre changes with all cars starting on Hard compound. No pit stops during safety Car or Red Flag. Drop the speed limit in pit lane by 15k. @@matthewgamble95

Pato O'Ward was understandably crushed by the way that this race turned out. After last year's finish when he came so close to winning, it was easy to feel sorry for him when he buried his face in his hands, shortly after the race had ended.

I think he drove to the bottom of the track too fast. He “scrubbed off” speed by doing that. And since newgarden drove down calmly, he got that run on Oward.

@@vandy_fan8056 their ability to maintain the fluidness of vehicle and calculate the slightest of degrees in which it's time to react and then control the angle to which allows their vehicle to glide past one another is hard or impossible to grasp,unless a driver tries to explain it to you after or during the race, or just be a passenger, still incredible sport of mechanics and technology mixed with the human condition.

Television really does Indy an injustice. I have not missed a race since 1986. I grew up just 30 minutes east of the track and to go when the track is empty it just has vibe. But on race day, it just comes alive. I attended all the F1 events they had in the 2000's and quite a few Brickyard 400's, none of them come close to the 500.

Canadian GP was just as good. 3 different race leaders. wet x dry TWICE with 2 safety cars. Maggy running it up to p5 on full wets. I could go…F1 is better

Pato and Alexander were trying to protect Arrow lead Laps, did not protect against JN or SD in the mix, timing is everything, skill & bravery is demanded, and the track will pick the winner.
