An Insider's Guide to Ski Resorts, Episode 26
Experimenting a little with the new format here. Please note that while a vast majority of the clips shown in this video are of exactly what I’m talking about, there are a few discrepancies, where I did not have footage of a particular run. What do you guys think of the new format?
English captions are available for those who prefer.

Absolutely excellent video. The ghee is on the top of my list this season and you covered everything in great depth and with SUPER helpful trail maps as you discussed. Subbed and looking forward to more videos!

I really like the new format! As another person already pointed out, it would be nice to get a quick overview of the whole resortmap at the begining. Apart from that its awesome:)

What runs do you think would have a good amount of snow at the beginning of the season in November? Also I definitely prefer this new format and you could split the screen half and half for the map so we can see it better but I don't want more of the screen to be the map than the skiing.

Well, this December, it's shaping up like it's gonna just be the main runs with Snowmaking, so probably just a few of the major blues in Sacajawea and Dreamcatcher.

@@SRGSkiing do you think it would be better to go to a different resort over Thanksgiving in that case?

I skied in the 1970's as a teen, but I had to borrow the skis and it's a long ride from Boston to the mtns of New Hampshire Vermont Maine and it's expensive, it's a shame many don't get to experience skiing, it's a blast, and the view from the top on a clear day is kinda s religious experience, it's one of those, OMG moments.

PLEASE note that waterfall/middle earth *can* have mandatory drops in dry spells (they are really small) but are hard to spot with flat light.

Used your guides to help plan a trip to Colorado this winter, now I am planning a northern rockies trip for next year (here, jackson, sun valley and big sky) so hopefully big sky guide soon. I liked the new format but maybe showing the whole trail map at some point to help orient those not familiar with the mountain might be helpful

Sun valley is nice but I think the snow is much better at nearby brundage and tamarack

The new format is nice, but it would be really cool if you could have the trail map open and you showing it around like the old vids, but with a miniplayer or something to play the skiing videos. I like having the trail map so I really know what you're talking about.

Hi, My Dad and I are from the East, but we went to Breck a few weekends ago, and we managed to walk right onto every single lift. We had a blast and skied 70k vertical feet over both days, which was amazing. I was wondering for the next time I have a chance to go out West, how rare is it to have no lines like that, what time of year generally has the lowest lines but the best terrain, and where would you recommend if I for some reason decide not to go back to Breck? I'm looking for a place that is large, has mostly modern lifts, and lots of steep groomers, as well as blue, single and double diamond bowls. I'm not much of a fan of bumps, glades, and terrain parks. Thanks!

I mean honestly, ski resorts are like that 90% of the time. Just avoid any Saturday or Sunday in late December-mid March. Copper sounds like it would be perfect for you.

@@SRGSkiing So Breck isn't normally ultra crowded? Wow, I honestly thought that happened almost never. I've thought about trying copper, I just wish the lifts to Tucker, Spaulding and Copper bowl were high speed. That's why I liked Breck so much, we ended up lapping kensho like 12 times and imperial 3 times, which we would've done more of if we had the time. Next time I'm coming back to conquer the lake chutes since I chickened out this time.

The only resort I know of that has big lines mid-week is Whistler Blackcomb. Everything in CO is pretty chill on Tuesday-Thursday, and most Mondays and Fridays as well. If you want that kinda bowl terrain, head to Vail. Those back bowls are legendary for a reason

I saw you replied to a comment that I deleted. I should have watched more the video before I wrote the comment. You should repeat this format. It is very hepful if you have extensive ski footage of the runs. You offer great terreain recon.
