I recommend using captions because my audio quality is not great and I mess up a few times.

Always thought it was a bit funny (and also quite savvy) how WP took different parts of the area and simply named them different territories to make their resort seem like multiple different and unique ski areas when really it's just one ski resort, and not even that big or diverse compared to others nearby like say Copper or Vail. It was smart of them, they gave each territory it's own branding and logo to align with the "vibe" of that part of the mountain but it's still just one average sized ski resort. Sure, it feels a bit different at MJ than WP, but that's pretty much any mountain, Super Bee has totally different vibe than Timberline, or Three Bears for that matter. So yeah, it gives me a chuckle but for the record it's still one of my faves. Ski there 10 x for every 1 time at Copper. Plus WP get's better snow and stays colder than others, especially this year!!

Or if you don’t want to do Sober Englishman or Outhouse to Super Gauge, as an alternative to High Lonesome, you could do March Hare or Whistlstop and one of the blues down to the Olympia lift (which imo badly needs an upgrade!), and then take Mary Jane, Gandy Dancer, or Drunden Frenchman, and Super Gauge up.

You absolutely can! I wrote in Hi-Lo because Olympia can get pretty busy

And I absolutely agree about the Olympia upgrade. However, they should be replacing Pioneer soon which might help Olympia's traffic

@@SRGSkiing Oh that’s cool! I still think an Olympia upgrade would be more important because from Pioneer , the only way to Mary Jane is the narrow Gunbarrel road. Which lift do you think is more important to upgrade?

@@blarbkanopcious4243 I went to WP today, and Olympia's line was absolutely nuts. They weren't running Looking Glass, which made Olympia's line even worse, but Olympia could definitely use a six-pack

In your experience, what is the pitch of Corona Way? The one time I went on it seemed extraordinarily flat, but maybe it was something weird happening that day.
@SRGSkiing
@SRGSkiing 2 жыл бұрын
No, it does tend to be flat. Its primary purpose is to serve the blacks above it, getting those skiers back to Challenger. I would recommend taking Sunnyside instead of Corona

@@SRGSkiing Yeah, that makes sense. This was before they replaced Sunnyside with the 6-pack, so at the time Corona and Sunnyside were more equal options.

Hi. What is the most efficient way to get to the top of High Lonesome Express from the base (for snowboarders)? I want to run those greens with the family. Thanks!

The best way imo is to take Whistlestop from the Gondola, but that can be a pain for boarders. Your next best option is to take March Hare to Lower White Rabbit, ride up Olympia, and then ski Hook Up. If you're going on a weekend, try to get an early start because Olympia can get some pretty long lines
