Your videography and story telling is amazing! Great audio, cool editing and great lighting. I'm really enjoying this series for those reasons as well as for the crabbing.

Enjoyed these 4 episodes. Just a weekend trotliner here in ocean city. Great to see how everyone does their setups differently.

Glad you enjoyed them. How has the year been for you out at OC?

@@brankohodzic crabbing is good here. Atlantic crabs have a completely different taste than Chesapeake crabs. I do better in ocean city than I do at dames quarters. Either way I get a bushel on the 1200' trotline every time I go out, just seems to take longer in the Chesapeake

@@grantlingjones26 Very interesting. If you don't mind my asking, what type of bait do you use on the ocean? What depth?
@grantlingjones264 жыл бұрын
@@brankohodzic using chicken necks. Not going in the ocean. Going in atlantic tributaries with a depth of 6'-9'. Some day I will upgrade to clam bags but for now chicken necks are cheap and easy to get

@@grantlingjones26 ah gotcha. I appreciate the info. As a kid, I did a lot of trot lining with my dad using chicken necks. Some of my favorite early memories.

Thanks so much! Its always nice having more subs, but all the important subs are here. 😄 Though we started last year, we've only actively posted for 4 months. We're still a really young channel.

I just watched all four episodes and really enjoyed them! I’m a rec chicken necker (although I buy clams sometimes haha). I’d love to see an episode where you just show the work and detail without any montages, music or cuts. There is a fantastic video on KZbin about traditional handmade Chesapeake bay boat building. The thing that makes it great is that they just show the men working, with some explanation from their own narrations. 20 or 30 min of just watching something like baiting the traps, tossing them out, plotting the strategy based on reports, building traps, taking the crabs to the markets etc would be really fascinating today and an excellent way to capture this moment in time. Just an idea. It’d also be best to know how you guys change tactics based on water salinity, temperature, oxygen, depth etc. two months later now and the water is 20 degrees warmer. Can’t wait to see the next episode! Blue crab info forums sent me. Love this stuff crab on.

Hey FloydofOz, We will try to bring more series of content in different formats. So glad you're enjoying things so far. I really appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you'd like to see.

Branko Hodzic Great stuff! The video I referenced is called Billy Moore Boar Builder 1981. Watching it is practically a zen experience and I’m sure at the time they didn’t realize they were capturing history.

On Instagram we had someone argue boiled crabs are better than steamed!? What do you think?
@FloydofOz4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if this is a serious question haha. Steamed obviously:) JO #2, beer and vinegar. Add some corn. Home run every time.

I use an app called Marine Traffic to watch the ships in the bay. Can I track you guys on that?
@FVMissPaula4 жыл бұрын
No. You have to be connected to AIS. It's mostly for commercial vessels like ships and tugboats.
