Lyse Doucet visits Cairo’s presidential palace for an exclusive interview with Egypt’s new strongman, President Abd-al-Fattah al-Sisi. After spending four decades in the military, he came to power in elections last year after the controversial ousting of the elected Muslim Brotherhood. He says he has a roadmap for democracy. But not everyone is convinced. What are his plans for his own country? What about Egypt’s wider role in the region? And, will the threat from the so-called Islamic State continue to grow?

@@youssefkandeel3667 first, it wasn't a coup, it was a revloution believe me sir millions of Egyptians were in the Streets in evey governate in Egypt also i've seen better infrastructure projects so far cus our infrastructure was absloutly horrible, he is demolishing slums and removing the people who were living there to better places with better services also he stood up against the usa cus the usa and almost all the western countries were supporting the muslimbrotherhood, tourism is much better but because of the covid19 everything stopped, also he is establishing a new capital which will improve Egypt's economy, he made alot of attempts to improve our education by coping Japan, he protected Egypt from terrorism and i think without him Egypt would have been worst than syria and Iraq. @officerahmo
@officerahmo 2 жыл бұрын
@@godshandftwfr Ok first off, I absolutely HATE the Mubarak and Sisi comparisons. Mubarak was extremely old and went through everything in his regime. He was taken down because people didnt believe his bullshit. Sisi cracks down on literally everyone who knows anyone who thinks about liking a comment where someone said sisi looked bad in any way. That's the situation people are in right now. So it's not as easy as going in the streets and calling him off again. Secondly, in which country in which world does someone win by 97% of the votes. If that is not screaming corrupted votes and fake votes, I don't know what is. And even in the extremely slim chance that he actually got 97% of true votes, why is everyone hating him now? And why is he jailing opposite opinions and political opponents if they were only backed by 3%? I could go deeper in the numbers, but I've got some better things to use my mind and time for.

February 15 1839, the British hanged 5 of our men in Montreal Quebec. Over 800 political prisoners were illegally kept and starved in the prison by the British. The British came into Quebec (read about the battle of the Plains of Abraham of 1759.) and came after us and seized power of our lands and businesses. These men were merely standing up to say : “no”, we want to have sovereignty over the land we worked so hard to plow, and the businesses WE built. This is why Quebec wants to hang on to the French language. We constantly have to push back against power and control of Ottawa. The same is being experienced in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The people are fed up with British Ottawa. Ottawa is constantly putting their nose into our affairs just so they can extract every penny we have. They change laws to extract more and more from us and allow their friends with large businesses to prosper. The free trade accord drafted by Chrétien was a disaster. Businesses here fell like dominos. Chrétien basically gambled our birthrights to help large corporations in the USA. This is why the US likes Canada so much because we apparently, just roll over and play dead. When accusing countries of dictatorship remember the past. Take a good look at yourself and what you have done. Seems to me someone needs a mirror. These people the British hanged were not extremists; they were just people who wanted jurisdiction over their own affairs. If you have a land and a neighbor comes and says: “give me your land” is it extremism to say no?
