An Interview With Susan Heck On Beth Moore

Beth Moore has finally eschewed biblical complementarianism and come out of the egalitarian closet. In this program, I interview Susan Heck (who has every book in the New Testament memorized and several in the Old) about her concerns with Beth Moore. I also ask Susan about the egalitarian arguments of Priscilla, the women at the tomb, and Deborah.

Luckily my husband, who was always a believer but not interested in reading the Bible or going to church, was flexible with me and understood how important it was to me to go to church and spend time in prayer and the Word. I started Beth's bible studies back in 2003. I had never studied or memorized scripture like I did with her. That being said, I stopped following her several years ago when she seemed to be more interested in being politically correct than biblically correct. I'll always be grateful for the love of Scripture that was instilled in me, and I do pray that she is okay.

Paul told us to him as he followed Christ, that should hold true of ALL who are in any type of ministry, this one included. If we keep our eyes on Jesus and not another person, we will not be disappointed. Humans always disappoint, not the intention I'm sure, but we are fallible in a fallen world. Sticking to scripture shows maturity, our relationship with Jesus, our Father and the Holy Spirit is THE most important thing.

Now I have all these studies and I am stuck with them. I don’t want to sell them as I don’t want to lead women astray. Thankyou Susan for just affirming what I knew after there were men in her audience when she was on James Robinson. I was upset and stopped watching her. She always said her husband was off stage and he was was always her covering. Now I know he doesn’t have any interest in her so called ministry. This was in the late nineties and early 2000’s.

@@Anne-ry1dt I had been taking a Precepts class, which is excellent because it dives deep into scripture, and also because it has a format that the instructor must follow. We had studied some of John, and a section of Matthew. We received notices by email of new classes that we could sign up for, and we're informed of the fee(small) I receive the email from the instructor of a new class, and Beth Moores study material and Bible study guide would be used. I wrote to the instructor that some of B.Moore's teaching is false,( she denies complimentarian teaching) AND, only the Precepts format is to be used for Precepts classes. Her answer to me was that she liked Beth Moore and saw nothing objectionable in any of her teaching. Sadly, that was the end of my Precepts classes, although I still look for others that are Precepts instructors. Precepts courses are excellent but this woman instructor was quite, " woke," and unwilling to consider whether Beth's teachings are unbiblical. If we know scripture fairly well we will recognize false teachers.....and must walk away no matter how much we enjoy them.

I live near Houston and was enthralled by Beth Moore in the early 2000s. My sister-in-law and I at the time would drive to her Women's Bible study at First Baptist Church which held 1000 people. I was a new Christian and it seemed like she made the Bible become alive for me. I did not know what I did not know at the time. All of it was so wrong but I wouldn't understand until just a few years ago. All that time I thought I was saved but I was not. I stopped listening to her and fell away for years but I remembered that time fondly and thought I was closer to God and would buy books occasionally by her and read them but felt nothing. Eventually I felt spiritually bankrupt. I questioned if God was even real. I stumbled across John MacArthur on KZbin and quickly absorbed his sermons like a sponge. I could not get enough. And then there was Paul Washer and then there was you Justin. I finally found true repentance and faith that came from Grace that resulted in a regenerate heart. I learned about complementarianism the right way the real definition! I'm in tears right now. I know I'm stupid. If only I'd known while I was still married. I'm chronically ill so I get my sermons mostly online. Thank you for having this special lady today. I will go find her right away and follow. I need this so badly in my life! I'm actually trying to teach my 16 year old son to memorize scripture!( he takes his John MacArthur Study Bible to school and reads it to some of his friends🤯🤫❤) I want to be like you ma'am♡memorizing scripture. Be careful! John MacArthur said on video years ago that even if one takes the mark of the beast, one may still go to Heaven. Scripture plainly states that anyone who takes the mark of the beast WILL not be forgiven. Be careful.

I attend a Presbyterian conservative church and I don't hear "repent" very often either, its not just Beth Moore who lacks. It absolutely should be spoken of much much more than it is.

Thats because ALLof these "churches" are Babylon. The voice of the bridegroom and the bride are not heard in them. We were warned of these things throughout scripture. These places are harlot houses of great confusion, Babylon means confusion. Its just like the tower of Babel. This system is also referred to as spiritual sodom and Egypt. Satan's ministers disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness, just like the scriptures say. These places are synagogues of Satan where lies are taught. Thousands of denominations claiming to be Bible believing churches but are divided against each other. Thats because the whole thing is completely carnal. Either we have heard the voice of the Son of God and come out from among them or we are under strong delusion in Babylon. Only the Good Shepherd has good and sound doctrine. People attending these places have given heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. Sounds harsh but absolute truth. Come out of her my people.

Repent? My studies have shown me it means "To change ones mind". Check the Greek. Changing 1's mind is the beginning of changing 1's behavior. Years ago I went to a Beth Moore study at my friends ladies group. It was about David. I bought a couple of her books but never read them and I loved to read. I never understood why except for some reason I just didn't want too. I never watched another study. My friend was enthralled with her ( she also liked Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer). I now know why I did not read her books. For a long time I felt like something was wrong with me but I know now there was not. Thank you for this. I really appreciate it.

@@mercyp7151 I would recommend to you the UTube channel Founders Ministries. It is lead by Pastor Tom Ascol and Jared Longshore. They are both outstanding godly pastors in the SBC and have been warning their baptist denominations about not only Beth Moore but Critical Race Theory as well for several years. I have a couple friends that grew up Southern Baptist and they refuse to believe that BM is a bad teacher, they point to how she was a role model to them when they were growing up...I was raised catholic(evangelical now) so had no idea who she was when I was growing up. I can recommend Jason Silver, The Bible Song Word for word ministry and Esther Mui (channel is called- Christian Worahip & Scripture Song) on KZbin. They've helped me to nail down Scripture memory by putting the Scriptures to music. I need a mix of song, reading and loudly reciting from the Word and writing it down, over and over, to commit anything to memory. I think you should find a method that works for you and stick with it 💪👍 you can do it by the power and help of the Holy Spirit! 😁💪

I must add how grateful I am for these teachings because they helped me come away from egalitarianism & the many heresies I believed in. At one point I was an ordained minister & had no idea my actions were going against God’s ordained order. Thank Jesus for calling me to repentance so that I can do what is right in God’s eyes & not my own. I was raised in the hyper charismatic, NAR, blab it & grab it & babble blah blah blah false gospel. While I see Beth Moore leaving the plumb line of scripture as of lately, calling her narcissistic, and dramatic her teaching disgusting and actually saying she is going to hell.... you can't say you aren't condemning while you condemn her. And your pride of not teaching men and being on you tube teaching men causes me to have caution with Susan Heck! Because you say one thing and do another. I am a biblical counselor . I know the truth but the truth without love is deceptive! I think you could caution women about Beth Moore without your condemnation! I use to listen to Beth Moore and she taught the gospel and repentance back then. As I have concerns where Beth Moore is taking her teaching today this is condemnation goes beyond scripture!! I’m sincerely asking...but is not Mrs Heck teaching Justin and a huge audience, men included, by conducting this video? He is actually asking her questions. The idea of just because she is not behind a pulpit on a Sunday does not hold hold up in scripture. This would invalidate Jesus’ “sermon” on the mount...outdoors....not in a synagogue. She can not have it both ways. It seems she can not acknowledge that some serious preaching has taken place in prisons, concentration camps, classrooms, impromptu moves of the Holy Spirit....by female followers of Christ. Maybe her argument holds up when speaking of close discipleship/authority but not teaching. And Neither should a man who is not related to a woman closely disciple her in most situations. Peter said “he” did not permit teaching. Peter also had to be corrected about circumcising of converts. We are losing our minds here. We allow women to teach impressionable youth but not grown men with way more discernment than children. I’m genuinely torn about this and saddened. I’m reading the same Bible as her but I see women quoted in lengthy passages, a queen mother giving instructions. I maybe get her point about not being in authority over a man but not the teaching. There is some major cognitive dissonance going on in this interview because TEACHING is what she is engaging in. She is teaching that women can’t teach 🤣

I think it greaves the Holy Spirit when you get on a public forum and bash other Christians for what they believe! You must have missed the scripture that says, "judge not lest you be judged in the same manner." What you should be doing is praying for Beth Moore and anyone else you feel is wrong. One minute you brag about how much better you are than she is, much like the Pharisee praying in the temple. I wouldn't listen to I seen either one of you said after watching this. God help you! Judge not lest you be judged is so often taken out of context that it has lost most of its meaning. As the church, we are called to discern truth and that does mean making judgments and protecting the sheep. If you go back and read that verse in context Jesus is saying don't judge if you are committing the same sin. First take the log out of your own eye before removing a speck out of your brother's eye.

When I first came to the Lord, my church's women's ministry used to go to the Beth Moore Bible Conferences and used her Bible studies on occasion. I used to enjoy her because she was funny and entertaining and "spiritual". I began to realize that I didn't enjoy or understand her bible studies as time went on. I didn't get some of the connections she made and longed for something more. I am grateful that in my current church, we do not use any pre-written Bible studies in the women's Bible's studies. God has blessed my church with some godly, biblically knowledgeable women who parcel out the Word with anointing. My church is not egalitarian. Our Elders and Pastors can only be men. Justin I have to apologize for anytime I have come against you. I have always considered you to be a very humble honest God fearing true witness of the Gospel and I grew up in an extreme charismatic church like the ones that you all are exposing but I will have to say that I'm thankful that God did not let it stick because as an adult I went on a search for the truth of God because even as a 12-year-old I knew that something was wrong with that situation. Anyway thank you for introducing us to sue and thank you sue for participating in the interview. I am looking forward to reading your books. I have watched Beth Moore a handful of times in the past but she was not necessarily my cup of tea although I was not finding any real fault with her until now. I did not start reading Bible text for myself until a few years ago after God delivered me from a 30-year cigarette addiction and he did that in literally one night! Like, I went to sleep a cigarette smoker and woke up and have not had a cigarette in 6 years!!!! I know he does miracles I know he is our deliverer but I'm very thankful that I'm also learning how to walk with him in obedience to his written word!

My old church had a woman’s Bible study with Beth Moore’s teachings. I was perplexed. They had devotions in Jesus Calling. Everyone loved these two teaching tools. I thought something was wrong with me because I didn’t. Our pastor came out of master seminary school? They liked Mark Driscoll? I warned people about him. My church actually has a designated pastor for education and they routinely allow Bible studies by popular false teachers. I sent a message to him that I was troubled to see the church offering studies written by problematic teachers. I asked if the church had a vetting process in place to prevent false teachers from coming in or if study group leaders made those decisions on an individual basis. He basically said he was sorry I was disturbed and assured me they have a do have a process in place for how they choose studies. At that point I lost any confidence I had in that church because obviously Holy Spirit has no place there. I have said that Jesus Calling is nothing more than Satan drunk dialing a medium. Although I'm not a follower of Beth Moore(or anyone else) I have done a couple of her bible studies and learned a lot from them. (not recently) I was humbled and lead to repentance concerning some things about myself. I've listened to other wof preachers but never felt any conviction of truth,never followed them. I occasionally listen to J.Peters but usually sense a critical spirit in him. Is it necessary to always point out errors of others? Maybe these two need to ask in prayer if they are "puffed up" . I want to be corrected and not led astray but just teach us the Living Word and discernment, leave the rest to the Holy Spirit. Derek Prince and David Wilkerson still my pastors although now with the Lord. They taught a lot about deceiving spirits without giving names but you sure can recognize them when guided by the Holy Spirit.

I'm currently doing her study on the sermon on the mount. I believe every Christian needs to do this study. Studies are very biblical. God bless.

My first concern with this topic is - WHY would the lady mentoring you, Mrs. Heck, even bring up Beth Moore and her ministry? She’s suppose to be teaching you from God’s Word. Was her teaching lacking in such a way that she needed to share Beth Moore’s teaching? Then to offer you a video that you automatically were disgusted with, seems like a set up to me. What was her motive? For someone like yourself, who has memorized the entire New Testament, why do you wish to participate in a video that clearly wants to criticize another person’s presentation of God’s Word?? Yes, we should definitely pray for people like Beth Moore and others because we know the kind of judgement is coming to them from God for lying to people about Him if they don’t repent. Still, take a look at the whole book of Jude that talks about false teachers/ungodly people leading others astray. It’s really short, just one chapter, but consider that Jude wrote this to other Christians under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Paul also names names in 1 Tim 1:18-20 to address 2 men, Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom Paul handed over to Satan “that they might learn not to blaspheme.” Scripture also tells us to imitate Paul as he imitates Christ (1 Cor11:1). I hope this helps.

I would like to know her thoughts on other popular female preachers such as Priscilla Shriver. I feel she’s similar. Not as crazy, but just as self centered and celebrity focused. I stopped participating in a women’s group that refused to just read scripture vs. doing some published workbook that focused too much on applying the “Bible verses” to some emotional insecurity or flaw or fear which I felt made us turn our attention to a “self help” mindset and not God and serving Him. That’s how I discern. It really simplifies it for me although I consider myself a young Christian. We left the Methodist church years ago when they began the open door policy. They have female preachers, too. Oh oh, the times are separating the wheat from the chaff- I pray every day that I’m part of the wheat - my fear of the God increases simultaneously as my faith deepens.

Many many people have addressed Beth directly and reached out to her with these concerns, over many years. She has spurned these attempts She preaches that God told her that “critics” should be ignored or mocked. She refuses biblical correction. Just so you know, this has been tried.

Honestly I just wish that you could hear yourself speak and how you come off sounding. I can't stand Beth Moore, and I believe that what you're saying is correct, but you two are so rigid with such an attitude of superiority that you can't see in yourselves. I like John Macarthur but he's just a man, quit putting those you favor on a pedestal please!!

I don't agree. They are warning vulnerable gullible women against following and worshipping false teachers and preacher such as Beth. She is leading women along the wrong path.. Beth is becoming more secular and is very outspoken on issues, very concerning

I am a 39-year-old single woman, never been married. I love God and love His written word. The way that Susan described her husband is EXACTLY what I have been praying for. Unfortunately, men like that are very hard to come by these days. This is why I have remained single. I want a man who knows the word of God and will be able to lead me with wisdom and understanding of the scriptures, and lovingly correct and guide me, when needed. I just don't find that anywhere. There are plenty of older, married men who I've spoken with who all agree that there are hardly any men of God these days who know the word. I desire to have that partnership in my life, and wait patiently for it. Lord willing, He will provide. 🙏

Beth is a sister in Christ whether you think she is doing the right or wrong thing....I can't see Jesus approving of an interview like this. I think of the story where the woman was caught in adultery and Jesus said to them "ye without sin cast the first stone". You need to put your stones away and look at the plank in your own eye. Jesus gave us 2 commandments, the second one is to love each other....I don't see any love here. The bible says that we will eat the fruit of our lips, if we use our mouth to pull down our fellow believers, publicly humiliate them like this then the fruit is not going to be good fruit and our judgement may be greater than we expected. Please follow Jesus' example and love her, let Him sort her out if that is what she needs. God has a far greater job for you to do than gossiping and slandering (the bible calls it murdering someone's character) Beth Moore or anyone else.

I also believe that in these times, we should concentrate our time loving our brothers and sisters and going after the lost, fear filled, broken people, in our countries and communities. Jesus did tell his Disciples to leave people alone who were not " doing it " like they were. And like you said: When you stand before God you only have to answer for your self, not all the people you are so critical of. Just leave the women alone who are not doing it the way you think it ought to be done and do it the way you see it. You won't have to give account for them.

If i remember correctly, there is a verse in one of the Corinthians that states different gifts given to those who believes. I am not a believer, so please excuse me as I try to understand why a woman who may have a gift to teach everyone be told only to teach to women? Women are just as good at everything they set their minds to as men are. Just because Eve made the mistake of listening to a liar, does that mean we blame all women for that mistake?

It's their own interpretation of Scripture, not taking into account the cultural context of the times. Women had no say in society back then.
