This video is right up there with the interview with Sambiology from several years back! Thomas, it was great hearing how you got into iNaturalist and how you've been involved with getting other experts onto the site. Thanks for all you do and keep up the amazing work!

Great and inspiring video about iNaturalist and congrats to Thomas and colleagues for the paper. Considering the 2.5 million current observers and the popularity of iNaturalist and Seek, I am surprised by the lack of an active KZbin channel posting weekly videos. The first candidate topic would be how to improve the quality of photo observations with hands on demonstrations and examples with different types of photo equipment and for different types of living things. The second topic would be interviews with expert identifiers who would describe their groups of interest, their best tools for identification, and what they expect from observers (photo angles, anatomical details, ....) in order to be able to identify or confirm identities.

Hi iNaturalist, can you please do a video tutorial on how to add a species to your favourites list so it shows up on your profile? I've tried making a list calling it favourites and writing the latin name of a species, but it didn't work.

iNaturalist changed my life too. When I was a kid, I wanted to invent goggles that tell you what species you are seeing. iNaturalist does this while helping the scientific community too.

Anyone can contribute as an identifier. Don't feel intimidated to learn. I recommend picking something really easy so there is less room for error. An amateur doing this work really frees up the experts time so they can focus on more complex things.
