Fascinating conversation gentlemen! Thank you for sharing. I’m a brand new clockmakers apprentice and it’s great to see these perspectives

Great interview Nicholas, and, yes, I *did* watch it all the way through, in one morning :) Thank you. I may watch it again as there were so many little gems scattered through it. I've got to know Tommy a little through Clickspring's Patreon Discord page. Cheers from regional Victoria.

Wonderful conversation, enjoyed the whole thing. Your respect for your craft is enviable, and I wish there was more of that with what I do. I repair and restore brass musical instruments, and there are several things that seem to overlap. The gathering of designs and details from repair projects that will someday be incorporated in your own designs is the same. Attention to detail is a challenge, finding apprentices who want to dedicate the time, the issue of schools giving such confidence to their graduates who panic at the first real repair. I have never repaired a clock or watch, but I am more and more intrigued by it. Thanks for sharing.

The influencer conversation reminds me of my choice to buy a 1976 308GT4 in 2001 instead of a much more modern Ferrari. Mechanically and emotionally it was a much more interesting car to drive and hear than the flashier, refined modern cars. You could see so much more of what made it the car it is. The influencers of course had a different goal than I. As such I prefer your conversations with talented people over the vloggers who go for superficial flash

Great chat. As an Electrician I have many of the same fears for the future of my industry.
