Med student here! Your diet changes all depend on what your kidney stone was made of. Your doctor should have that information. If it was from uric acid, that's when you would need to cut down on meat, if it was calcium you may have to switch up certain meds you might be on and make different diet changes. Once you know what type of stone you have, then google diet changes related to that stone type only!

Glad your on the mend Mel. Please do not get too hung up on diet except using plain bottled mineral water I use Evian and drink litres of this daily. I myself found out not that long ago before I had my stones that I have duplex kidneys with double urethras which is part of me but un be known to me makes for infections which I have not had too many of and thus maybe stones I have been lucky with only 2 episodes of stones. I drink water and beer to ward off issues, Whatever works for you but it's not just diet that causes issues. I had ambulance first episode and used entinox pain was so so bad. You'll be fine just don't stress as this too can make your body have issues. Praying for you Much love from London xxx

Mel and Mike you are Beautiful Couple, you are both so funny, I love watching your Videos Narcotic medication😅😅😆😆. You are both inspirational. Am just imagining how you felt, lost when you thought of ovarian cyst while it was kidney stone. Lord Jesus always answers prayers. I know how empty it feels when you loose Mum as I lost my Mum last year July but what encourages me is that she is in heaven. Your Mum is in heaven despite missing her. God only gives you what you can handle. You have done it all very graciously. I have had cancer 4 times so I know that fear, but more importantly I know how the Lord heals. Rest and continue to love on each other. God will continue to take care of everything else. Glad to see Mel smiling again.

If you ever have another kidney stone and are in that much pain ask for a Dilaudid PCA pump. Dilaudid is a MUCH stronger opioid than morphine is and it is actually used just as often. Morphine is a very powerful opioid too, but not nearly as strong as Dilaudid. Hospitals use Fentanyl too and it is 100 times stronger than morphine. These medications, especially fentanyl, are very dangerous drugs though so they should only be used when absolutely necessary.

My dad had kidney stones when I was very young and I have vague recollections of it. My memories of my father's heart attacks back in 1983 (2 - twelve hours apart) and the one that finally took his life in 1986 are much more sharper in my memory. There is recovery involved for both the patient and for the rest of the family members. You are strong together in the Lord and that will hold you together. Praise the Lord!

The most important thing is that, when ONE spouse is Sick , the other stands up to take FULL control of everything. Very supporting 👌 😘. Great job. Praise the LORD 🙏. Hi glad you're starting to recover. I've had 13 kidney stone surgeries in 14 years. You need to find out what kind of stone you had before changing your diet. I was told it's oxalate to watch for. I've hd uric acid stones and a 3cm. Stag horn plus many others.
