Extraordinary channel. I've watched your fundamentals on digital audio and it helped me tremendously with university work and I've been blown away by the quality of the videos you produce. Please never stop making videos. Greetings from Bulgaria

This is a great primer for those coming from the world of RLC filters to the world of DSP filters. I now have a better understanding of what it takes to write the code for a digital filter and why an array is necessary.

That's great to hear. I didn't really envision it being used by analog engineers to get into digital filters, but I'm glad that's a possibility!

This is where control systems meet digital signals. I know it as in power electronics also, we are faced with same problem where we struggle to make sense of the code. Excited to watch this series.

Your presentations are perfect. I have never seen such content so beautifully put together and delivered as you do. A big ask, but would you be able to do a session on explaining how STI/STIPA modulation works?
@akashmurthy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Unfortunately though, STI wasn't something that I was aware of, and I probably wouldn't be the most informed person to talk about this.

I read some parts of the book as well, without it I would never have made it through my digital signal exams! Looking forward of hearing it a second time from you, to consolidate the knowledge.

Yes! So excited to get started with this series. I read the book (never finished the full thing) a few times and wrote myself a plugin in JUCE as well, but never gave it a fancy interface like that one. Looking forward to seeing it animated too.

This series is definitely just a small chunk of the beginners section of the book, but I thought it was a very interesting and intuitive part of the book.

@@akashmurthy it really was. Especially considering how fast it can get really abstract and complex (no pun intended)

I mostly use After Effects for the animations. For more mathematical ones, I use Python or P5js.

I am doing a project on "accurate and enhanced voice recognizing system" which exact model dsp processor should i use i want ADC and DAC both ports there and i want to use filtering (removing background noise and comparing sample input voice with the voice in the database..)
@douglasfairmeadow Жыл бұрын
Akash, Ihis is a question unrelated to the filters. 'm curious what plug-in you use for your Bézier curves in After Effects? Aside from great design, I always admire your elegant animation. I use 'Flow' for After Effects, but it doesn't look as nice as this.
@akashmurthy Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Bezier curves in what way? Visual ones, or the ones controlling the timing of animations? I don't use many plugins on AE, most of it is stock. I don't think I've used any curves for drawing as such. If there are any illustrations of frequency responses or graphs, they're usually done in Illustrator and brought over to AE. Illustrator is definitely a better tool for that. If you have an example of timecode of what you're referring to, I can give you more info!
@douglasfairmeadow Жыл бұрын
@@akashmurthy Thanks for the prompt reply. Bezier curves as in 'Ease In' animation curves in After Effects. It means you can gradually slide things to a stop, instead of just the standard 'ease in'. Yours look a bit more advanced than the standard ones, which is what I was admiring!
@akashmurthy Жыл бұрын
@@douglasfairmeadow ah yes, instead of using keyframe presets like Ease In Ease Out, I always use custom velocity. Select Keyframe Velocity and I put in 75% for influence. That's it! I do this for most animations. I learnt it from some motion graphics course on Udemy. For bounce sort of animations, I use expressions.

Hi, do you know why 20kHz input sine from ADC wave is outputted via DAC on "Monty" video as perfect sine wave "kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6LMc32Yh6qInbc" even samples do not match (he even jokes about it) ? 1. Is it because DSD (sigma delta converter) ? 2. or is it Because of "some" digital filter which is behind DSD DAC ?
