Great presentation of the basics of space-based Earth observation! Really the best explanation I have seen/heard! I have one comment concerning the definition of Earth observation and that is that per definition Earth observation includes all types of observations of the planet, including in-situ or ground-based. Copernicus data is also validated and calibrated with in-situ, but of course it is even better to have more in-situ to improve the accuracy and interpretations of the satellite (space-based) data.
