Thank you! I have been looking for clear tutorials on Elliptic Curve Cryptography for a long time.

Elliptic Curves are perhaps the single most interesting mathematical structures I have ever seen.

I noticed that too, he's slipped up a bit with the coefficent of x on the right hand side at 20:45 when completing the square and missed adjusting the x term with an extra (a_1a_3)/2 to compensate. The upshot however is the same, ie the constant coefficient of (a_1a_3/2 +a_4) for x becomes A4' .

I have a suggestion on youtube lectures. Lectures of this kind actually should be on slide-by-slide basis. By default you are in slide reading mode. You skip a slide if you can understand it by merely reading its content. When you don't understand the slide, you must have the provision to enable the lecture for that slide. This approach will make the learning process much faster. On a slide, while reading, if there are jargons you want explanation to, you must be able to point your mouse at the text and get a quick explanation to it. The features mentioned can speed up online learning.

if p(x1,y1) and q(x2,y2) is given then find slop=y2-y1/x2-x1 after that find x=square of slop-x1square-x2square y=slope(x1-x)y1square this formula is valied only if p(x1,y1) and q(x2,y2) are different points

Isn't there a mistake at 20:00 in the expansion and rearrangement of the Weierstrass Equation since the square of (y + (a_1.x)/2 + (a_3)/2) calls for a cross term (a_2.x)(a_3)/2 which I can't see anywhere?

can someone tell me why repeated roots are bad for cryptography (or why singularity is bad for cryptography)?
