Thank you, Elder. My son has always felt comfortable at Church.

Thank you! It means so much to have Church leaders address something I experience, so directly.

They condemn any sexual activity outside the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman. They don't condemn me because I experience same-sex attraction. I believe that is a commandment from God, not man. I trust that God's plan is better than my plan. I find peace in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hypocrisy: Condemning LGBT people for acting on their same-sex attractions but not condemning those acting out their opposite-sex attractions. Jesus would have been furious with Mormons!

I am not religious but I am very interested in the LDS church because I know members and they represent it very well because they are great human beings. I kind of wish I was raised in a religious family to have the values and regular meetings of the church as a guidance in my life. I feel very lost at times. I wish I could make myself believe but it's not easy to shed an atheist perspective. Nevertheless, this video meant a lot to me - just to know that you'd be welcome if you were not completely straight. I couldn't support this healthy kind of religion more and I wish I could be a member.

I was saddened to recently see a young girl whose microphone was turned off as she expressed her testimony during service, because she also expressed how she felt about being a lesbian. Although I believe member truly do love everyone, sometimes the actions and policies of the church do not show it. It has been the only thing preventing me from being baptized.

This suits me fine I love the gospel and im grateful to be gay. Heavenly Father loves me and i love being a gay mormon. Ill keep his commandments and live a life filled with the saviour and God attending church the temple and filling my day with prayer. living a gay lifestyle for me is lonely and empty in the Lords true church its filled with love and feeling whole. The world tells the opposite but its filled with distortions. The Gospel is real and calls us to wake up and foolow him. Amen

An inspirational video. 3 nephi 11:29 which he quotes says it all and john 3:16 also. It is for no man to judge another otherwise YOU will be judged with the same measure. Walk in the light everyone. and the church doesn't says homosexuals can't attend church, its doctrine forbids baptism unless celibacy is maintained. So the church does welcome all people thriugh it's doors ...

Paul the apostle said in the first book of Corinthians that gay people will not inherit the kingdom of God and yes God loves you but hates the sin. The wages of sin is death. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us what the scriptures are for, by the way.

I don't understand the same sex attraction, but I see many intelligent men and women in the world don't judge, they just accept and if they can then can all who love Christ and having greater responsibilities and obligations to love all, can we not do the same? Thank You Elder Clayton.

My son is gay and has a partner. My daughter is married and has a little girl and wonders how to balance love and standing for God's Laws. She feels that being with the family when my son and his partner are there is in some way going against God's Laws and supporting his participation in a gay relationship. So she has chosen to not be with us when they are with us. She does not want to expose her daughter (1 yr) to any LGBT participants ever because she doesn't know how to teach her the dichotomy of living God's Laws and loving someone who is LGBT even if it is family. As Parents, we feel that all of them need our love and our presence in their lives and that this divides our family. My daughter sites past talks and interviews by President Oaks and personal revelation from these writings as her basis for her decision. Help me reunite my family and give her a reason to be with my son and his partner despite present activity in the LGBT lifestyle.

Jesus was persecuted for dining with sinners. He announced the start of his ministry to a woman living in sin. Christ showed that the best way to change hearts was simply to be with them and love them when no one else would. Thank you for following Christ's example and loving your son, even though you don't agree with his life-style.

born and raised in LA is the opposite experience for those living in Utah or in a tight knit community of the doctrine all around. Theres no hiding anything....theres no ignoring the flaws of any kind so teaching love and acceptance had to start early for my daughter. Luckily, every child in the world has the purest heart of all. Easily understood that she will love her gay aunt the way Jesus loves her. Thats all our job here. Be that of a child but not childish.

How is this short speech consistent with the Church's policy of children living with those in a same-sex "marriage" being barred from baptism? I also think that the Church needs to address the issue of parents expelling their youth who "come out" from their homes. I certainly did not hear anything about that during the following General Conferences.
@scoredfilms82628 жыл бұрын
It would be devastating to ask a child to make a weekly promise to adhere to something their parents reject or refrain from. Anyone who cares about their children being happy wouldn't introduce conflict into their lives. We don't throw politics at children. We want them to simply attend and enjoy life.

Tips for parents on how to show love and serve their children in this context: mormonandgay.lds.org/articles/ten-tips-for-parents Conference talks, which constantly remind us to show love to others and that everyone is "within the reach of divine love", no matter what: www.lds.org/general-conference Every other year we see new videos, animations, books, training programs for leaders, and website improvements. So honestly, I'm not sure how anyone could miss it unless they didn't want to find it. Trust me, those links work.

Yes there are MANY LGBT youth or young adults in Utah who have been evicted from their homes and/or disowned by their parents & families because of who they are. And these parents actually have the nerve to think God is pleased with their actions of hate and that they will even be "rewarded" for it. It's reprehensible.

Ranger Jauregui The church can say whatever it wants for it's members and if those members are masochistic enough to stay in the church that's their problem. However, when the church influences laws I have a right to criticize it. In fact, I have a right to criticize either way.

D Mc Christ never condemned anyone based on their sexual orientations. "Lustful" thoughts leading to action were the culprits whether gay or straight. The Old Mosaic Law says, "... If a man also ** lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: A) - they shall surely be put to death; B) - their blood shall be upon them." (Lev 20:13 kjv) So the act is sinful. Which leads to, A) - Physical death. (And Eternal) B) - No repentance, no progression in the Eternal scheme of things. Paul called it the "Curse of the Law". Gal 3:10-14 kjv Christ came to salvage anyone bound with points (A) and (B.) The Old Mosaic Law is a schoolmaster to what's ahead. However with eternal consequences this time... It is whether people care about what G-d has to say will depend on how they recieve Him. Because the way people think and act now will be an spit image on how they act in the Hereafter.

Yea, because it is against the Bible and God’s law, it is a perversion and a sin, thus why the law can’t change for your sake, YOU must change your behavior for the sake of following God.
