"It has conflict" shares the same category as "doom runs on it" imo Man, CrankY's a beast... and to think it all started thanks to BM98 or whichever BMS player came first (IIDX but for PC, free of use and with free content) This video was a blast. I'm one year later to the party but this bangs hard. Great job!

@@SylvainHunter there are a couple of obscure/underrated games such as amplitude/frequency, dj max, osu, lanota, neon fm, lost in harmony and more. Maybe you can try to cover other unorthodox music games such as gitarooman, a song of fire and ice, and rhythm doctor.

A note you should have said was that in contrast with the American PS2 Beatmania release, the Japanese PS2 releases were very well made and were popular with people overseas and went on until IIDX 16 Empress.

Awesome video. I've been mostly a DDR/ITG player since around 2001, also got into Guitar Hero while it was popular. But recently I discovered Sound Voltex and instantly loved it. I've only played a handful of times, but that was enough for me to invest in the new FAUCETWO controller from Gamo2. I'm super excited to be able to play at home when it arrives.

@@TonesBalones It's great. Being able to play whenever I want and for free, I went from playing 8's and 9's to being able to pass 15's. I made an unboxing video on my channel if you want to see how the product arrived. I also recommend the review on a channel called tokaku. In short, it's probably the best controller on the market price-to-performance wise right now.

I believe that 2020 was a huge rise for rhythm games, and FNF developer took a chance and makes it but ironically I think that FNF ruined rhythm games in general. I mean, who the hell would like those weird voices of each character anyway

very nice video. i feel like it might've been worth mentioning that many of these games are indeed playable outside of round1 or outside us/japan, as some arcades have bought them illegitimately. not as good as playing the online versions obviously but it can be nice for people who want to try the games out.

I keep going back to this video and recommending it to friends who I introduce to the scene, it's really an amazing entry point to the genre, aside from the fact that it's a bit long so you need to make sure you are sharing it with someone who is interested enough. We definitely need more content like this to make the genre more popular.

Hi, my friend and I we have occasional talks about the internet between 2009-2013 and it seems that brung up the subject of "nyan cat" and he told me how he thought he crazy for describing the animation you made for it on the previous channel 8 years ago. Nice video but you only missed Neon FM, EZ2DJ/EZ2AC and old O2Jam. But overall I loved all but also sad too since not many arcade places (in my territory) has latest rhythm game, or sometimes unstable network to getting online cab (bemani ones). This video deserves more views. (y)

I thought about including O2JAM and EZ2AC but one is dead and only running on private servers and the other can barely be found in any arcades outside of korea.

@@SylvainHunter Well you're not wrong tho, O2Jam right now is avaiable only for iOS. Only private server O2Jam PC that still exsist, they were... abnormal player... as EZ2AC yes it's very rare but the series & crossover song were still running. Ah yes, you also missed Dance Evolution but I just realized that game is discontinued.

The Round 1 near me actually has fans set up near the DDR machines for people playing it. I thought people had brought them but I see them every time I goo so it's good to see arcades taking this into consideration.

Since I only play Cytus 2, I was introduced to Oshama Scramble from maimai and fell in love with it immediately. So i can definitely see that t+pazolite's song would be the mascot of maimai.

Guitar hero does have a timing system. It is more subtle compared to other games if you hit the note, perfectly flames shoot out of the fretboard

I know this vid is a few years old, but there's another VR one called Ragnarock. You're a drummer on a viking vessel and hit the drums to the rhythm of rocks songs by bands such as Wind Rose and Gloryhammer. I tried too high a difficulty at first but it's fun

geometry dash is an interesting "music" game you pretty much dodge spikes and other obstacles with various gamemodes and modifiers that are switched between over the course of a level the reason i put music in quotations is because depending on the quality of the level it can either be exactly on beat with the music or not at all as far as i know conflict isn't an official or custom level, but there's nothing stopping you from making it

This video deserves more attention! It's a super complete guide, thank you for putting all this effort making it. I'm just starting in rhytm games and I find quite difficult to find guides or where to start. I'm from latin america so the only rhytm game arcade in my city is a pump it up one and several outdated DDR, if you make a list of how can I play there games from 3rd party sites it would be extremely helpfull. My idea was getting arcade cabinets from USA but is super expensive and now I find out you can't play in them without a server omg, help me understand the card sistem too, can I get them in Mexico? are they usefull or what hahah I´m going to take a look on your other videos, but I want you to know that you are the person who is opening a new world in front of me!

there are things known as shadow networks for playing mainly e-amuse games without connecting to official konami servers, as for obtaining the cards, it seems a lot of places have a source they use to mass import cards in bulk, but i have no idea where they get them from

I spent almost 20 minutes asking myself where the hell did I hear Conflict. Cytus, that's it. Gotta love this video, I am newbie in the field, I just played Cytus and Taiko no Tatsujin, but I want more. I'll play Osu until I will be better and.. well.. richer. Anybody remeber Audiosurf here?

it wasn't mentioned in the video but djmax respect now has a cytus dlc pack which contains you know it! conflict

I feel like you shouldve talked more about 4k-8k rhythm games on keyboards, such as quaver & notitg. this is just my personal opinion, but it would be nice to see key based rhythm games touched on a bit more as they are one of the most popular 'versions' of those games.
