Now I'm really interested in seeing the distance the SteepShot can reach if you open it horizontal or/and vertical.

I actually quite like this brewer but I'm having a hard time recommending it over the aeropress.

How does the result compare to the Aeropress?

It is a cool thing! But for me, I dont ser how this would replace my aeropress...

Don't think it's necessarily ment to replace the aeropress either. I see this as more of a brewer for travel. I find the aeropress less suitable for some types of travel compared to what this would be offering. Being able to keep the entire process in a contained environment instead of an aeropress which can get knocked over and spill coffee all over the place can be nice if you want to make coffee in a moving vehicle (which I have done before a few times with an aeropress and you really have to be extremely careful). The ability to make it so quickly is also a bonus, not having to use 5 or more minutes of your break at work or school to make an aeropress (I know it can take shorter time, but can easily be 5 minutes is you have to grind the beans too, wait for water to boil ect) or even just in the morning to whip up a super quick coffee

So it's basically going to be an Aeropress brew with a lot less faff and fiddling?
@jacobhjortman50564 жыл бұрын
Less fiddling? I see more fiddling here, except that you dont have to press the water through yourself...
@N0rthAI4 жыл бұрын
@@jacobhjortman5056 I suppose it depends on how you look at it. The plunger/container combo has been a bit of a tricky thing sometimes, and if you use the upside down brewing method it's also precariously perched for an unwanted splash. This just screws open, pours in, closes and is 'safe' and simple the whole way. Once done, it looks like you just open and rinse. Potentially don't even have to do anything with the filter either. So yes... less faff, fiddling and less risk of the whole brew getting elbowed into Narnia.

Why can you brew faster with it than an aeropress if both are immersion brews which are then filtered under some pressure? Does this thing get hotter? Or could you do the same with an aeropress, if you grind fine and press quickly?
