I sometimes feel that I'm the only one who need information backwards to understand it. I know HTML and CSS, I know what they do and their function. I would like to know more of XML but don't really see the usage of it practically or how it is involved in HTML etc. And since few videos display this more practically I find it hard to get it any better =/

Xml totally different language compare to html and css have own tag but xml yu can create the tag how yu can create the tag check the google exjample like movies and tv show

Storing data in layers. JSON is an alternative, but XML is like HTML, and if you know javascript object notation better than HTML, you can use JSON.

In basic sense it is manipulating with data. HTML does not give you that option (you can only represent the data)... BUT with XML you can do query, transform it from XML to HTML format with some commands, get the data you need, parse etc.
