I am Jewish and lived in Israel a while back. I had plenty of Arab buddies. We made music together and hung out. Some of them were Israeli Arab citizens. All of us had free health care. None of us wanted to be terrorist targets. One day Rehov Ben Yehuda, the main drag in New Jerusalem blew up. Suicide bombers. I was there. It was bad. These kind of attacks were happening there a lot at the time. Most people in Israel want to live together in peace. Its the troublemakers, like Hamas, who want to gut the place and turn it into a caliphate. iIs got nothing to do with race. It's about democracy vs. theocracy. Sure, the hardline jews want to stop the busses running on Shabbat in Jewish neighborhoods and such. But they don't kill your grandmother over it. The argue for it in the Knesset and in court. It's safer that way, don't you think? If the Caliphate (Hamas, etc.) took over they would steal my guitar, forbid women to go to school or work, or go out unaccompanied by a man, and then kill me. Mark Twain a well-known historical writer and philosopher visited Palestine in 1869. He described the land as a desolate land not occupied by millions of Arabs who are calling themselves Palestinsinas. She is absolutely correct, but left out a - well, not amusing, but heavily ironic fact: at 1:26 she mentions that the Israelites had lived on the land for millennia, until the Muslim Conquest in the 7th Century, when the land was Arabised and Islamised. The fact she left out was that EXACTLY THE SAME TIME, her own people, the Iranian peoples, principally the Persians, were "colonised" in exactly the same way. The Buddhists in what is now Afghanistan also had a particularly rough time of it. The late 7th C was a pretty awful time for anybody who got in the way of the conquering Muslims.

Around 900,000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries between 1948 and 1970 with most of them losing their property and their wealth in the process. My father was one of them. He had to flee Tunisia and move to France when the Arabs revolted and attacked the Jewish and French living there. They left behind a very prosperous Jewelry business as well as their home which the Arabs took over illegally. They never got a cent back from Tunisia since that time. So as you can see, there were far more Jewish refugees than Palestinian ones since 1948 but with one big difference: Jews worked hard and prospered wherever they went while Palestinians still claim their refugee status and ask for hand outs from world governments.

I was under the mpression that this began in 1941, and nearly all Jews from North Africa were expelled. Stripped of everything and forced to leave pretty much at gunpoint. Its also enraging that the UN through UNWRA hands out charity, provides and supports DP camps they squat in and the Arabs can hand down their refugee status to their children and grandchildren. In 79 A.D., the Jewish people living in the area were kicked out again by either fear of persecution or they were forced into the Christian faith to survive. We were scattered throughout the world, and dispersed even more because of the events of WWII. Long before the nation of Israel existed, the people had a longing to return to our ancestral homeland. This is what’s known as “The Jewish Diaspora.” So, once we had a place to call our own, one where we are safe to exist and govern, the people rejoiced. That day in 1948, there were celebrations, dancing in the streets. As it was, we were essentially finally free from thousands of years. Going to the name of Palestine, the land was originally called Canaan by the people, or Judea by the Romans and Greeks. When Emperor Hadrian came to power, he renamed the land to “Philistia.” The Phillistine people were an ancient peoples that were known to be the enemies to the Indigenous people of Canaan, (Israelites). Naturally, the Israelites feared the Phillistines. And Hadrian knew this. So when he named the land “Philistia” it was a sign of power to rule over the Israelites. It was a fear tactic, and a big middle finger to the people. As language goes, the name was evolved to the name of “Palestine.” Sorry this is a lot. I believe the state of Israel has the inherent right to exist. And I also believe the innocent people of Gaza need to be freed from their government. Realistically, I don’t believe there can be a two state solution. It has been attempted for decades after “the war of independence.” But the surrounding countries of the region cannot stand the idea of a “Jewish State.” So, at the end of the day, it boils down to people still having a problem for the Jewish people. That being said: thank you for your video. It really makes me happy that someone can see both sides, and also not want us to be wiped out.

You believe so because you lack actual historical knowledge. The Arabs in Israel and what you call Palestine do not want a country, they want to immortalize their victimhood. They were offered a state time and again but somehow they couldn't accept it because us Jewish people were not dead enough for their palates: 1. Peel Commission of 1937 - Rejected. 2. White Paper of 1939 - Rejected. During WW2 - Hajj Amin al-Husseini which was the leader of the Muslims in Palestine was considered a criminal by GB and had evaded his arrest warrant just to help the German dictator to form a Waffen-SS unit of Muslims, so they can continue their genocide against Jewish people. By the way, I call them Arabs and not Palestinians because the funny fact is that the term Palestinians was reserved to the Jewish people whom, by Lord Balfour's Declaration(1917), were to be the designated population of the country. Also - It's a bit problematic to give a sovereign responsibility to a Sunni Salafi Muslims who'd play the hadith of trees and rocks out of their mosques(actively calling to our extermination). When the Arabs decide that life is a holy thing, when they respect the moral behind "The Binding of Isaac" and accept that children are not tools to be sacrificed - Then we might be able to talk like adults. Because there was no such desire from the start. Arab leaders wanted to divide the land between 4 countries. Lebanon and Syria get the North, Jordan gets the center, Egypt gets the south. When they lost the war, Lebanon and Syria left with nothing basically, Jordan had West Bank, Egypt took Gaza. They were so humiliated by the defeat that the only thing they wanted was a revenge, so they just started to use those territories as bases for pressure on Israel. Jordan also expelled all the Jews living in West Bank, more than 100,000 if I'm not mistaken. They held Palestinians in deliberately bad conditions to influence the West, and boy, they succeeded in this. In 1964 in the first version of PLO charter it said that Palestine should be completely free and then united with Jordan. They changed it after 1967, probably because Jordan lost West Bank in the war and the agenda had to be changed.

I'm a British Hindu of Indian descent and I totally empathise with Jews and Israel. To be attacked, your land taken over and your people being genocided hits close to home. The Moplah massacre, the Kashmiri Pundit genocide, the tensions in Manipur where Hindus asked for their rights. The reason why Hindu India was partitioned was also do to invaders who wanted a Hindu free country and are still actively pursuing that. The young lady is mostly correct. A couple of things though. In 1947 The United Nations partitioned Palestine into 55% a State called Israel for the Jewish Peoples, and 45% of the land for the indigenous Palestinians, when the population split was actually about 80% Indigenous Palestinian, and 20% Jewish. Hardline Jewish Militias then said that was fantastic, and started forcing up to 750,000 Palestinians off land they’d occupied for generations. This is what they call the Nakba. If they forced 750,000 to move the population must have been over a million at that point. It started as, and was briefly, a Civil War, then all the surrounding Arab Nations sent their Armies to take control, and it became the First Arab-Israeli War, which - while Israel is regarded as winning, - it is notable that Jordan ignored the UN borders afterwards, and retained occupation of the area known now as the West Bank. So Israeli occupation is not the only occupation those in the West Bank have known. Then in 1967 another War broke out between Israel and its neighbours, the Six Day War. At the end of that War, Israel had pushed Syria from the Golon Heights, Egypt from the Sinai, and Jordan out of the West Bank, increasing its size by a factor of 4. Israel then occupied these lands until the 1993 Oslo Accords. 12 years after Oslo, in 2005, Israel withdrew its Settlers from Gaza. In 2006, Hamas was voted in to power in Gaza. Hamas’ major opposition was Fatah, (the Palestinian Authority), who were widely seen as corrupt and West Bank focussed, by the Gazan population. There were other Parties, so Hamas won power with 46% of the Vote giving them 65% of the Seats in Parliament. Both Parties in this conflict have been poorly treated, and both sides have extremists. This young lady is very correct, and I don’t know the solution either. But, somehow, 9 million Israelis have to learn to share the land with 6 million Palestinians. The hatred for one another has got to go. And, after Ukraine, and learning what a HIMARS can do, it makes the area too small for two separate Countries. Maybe multiple, viable, ethnic States within one Country?

Yes, I noticed. I saw some youtube videos where both Palestinians and Israelis were asked questions (sent by viewers). These videos are even a few years old. Palestinians, young or older, made clear that THIS IS OUR LAND AND THEY STOLE IT FROM US, ISRAEL NEEDS TO GO. What would happen to the Israelis? Well, the answers were different here - some would send them back to the USA and Europe, because they believe they are from there. Some would be willing to live with them, but in a country called Palestine ruled by Palestinians according to their rules. One can imagine. They say, they used to live in peace during the Ottoman empire like this but they forget to mention what was the position of the Jewish communities there. To be fair, Israeli settlers in the West Bank do not see themselves leaving if it is the Palestinian state in the future and some were ready to fight. One correction though - saying that the first time someone held a palestinian passport was in 1917 is completely missleading, because that refers to the passport issueed by the british mandate, not a passport indicating a Palestinian state. Even the Palestinians themselves didn't began referring to themselves as "Palestinians" until the 1960s. Up until the 60s they referred to themselves as trans-egyptians, trans jordanians, etc. (the countries they immigrated from.)

Keep in absolute mind that when she mentions 1917 being the year of the first Palestinian passport (05:37), what she means (but perhaps forgot to mention) is that it was the first _British_ Palestinian passport. Palestine at that time was just the name for the area, and so when the Brits got mandate for the area as part of the League of Nations, they named it.... British Mandate for Palestine. The official languages were English (new kid on the block thinking he's hot stuff), Hebrew (the.. frozen sperm-bank baby-son of Biblical Hebrew?), and Arabic (specifically Levantine Arabic).

Not really. This video is so wrong by summarizing history in 5 minutes without taking contexts into account. The fact that jewish have an ancestry there applies to those who stayed during those thousand years : basically the jews who where there before the 20s. The jews who migrated since then are 1% jew 99% something else (i'm exaggerating on purpose) and come from different cultural backgrounds. Sorry, but there should definitely NOT be a Palestinian state. I used to be a moderate on the subject of a two-state solution until 2005 when Israel unilaterally pulled out of Gaza. Ariel Sharon made a huge mistake by pulling out the military and forcibly removing the settlers without any sort of peace treaty put in place. The land-for-peace gesture was not received as intended by the Arab "Palestnians". They took it as a sign of weakness and soon commenced launching rockets into Israel. The "Palestinians" will NEVER accept a two-state solution with Jews as their neighbours. The only way there will ever be peace is to transfer the Gazans into the Sinai and transfer the Arabs from Judea and Samaria into Jordan. The two million Arab-Israeli citizens can stay. Any notion of a viable two-state solution was murdered on October 7, 2023.

Not really a critical thinker nor is she "right". If she were actually a critical thinker, she would question why it is that anyone in Palestine is expected to give up land when Europeans own more than 50% of the planet's green land despite making up only 13% of the population. The reason being for a lot of jews in those countries was they used the right to return over the past 75 years that allowed them to legally move to israel. Many jews lived in those neighbouring countries for centuries. She is full of bullshit, Palestinians were being expelled and forced out of their homes and villages before 1948 and this was only accelerated more and done with greater intent during and after the war, Israel committed well documented massacres that forced them to flee.
