This film explores the battle for Saipan, at American Memorial Park. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Japan fortified many pacific islands including Saipan (a small island near Guam). During WWII, this rugged island was critical to the American island-hopping campaign which lead to the eventual surrender of Japan.
