This was so pleasing to watch. Alexis is such a well-rounded player. Solid defense that allowed him to turn the game from being attacked to attacking. Many variation of serves (including BH serve) that gave An a hard time receiving, setting up Alexis for a strong 3rd ball attack. I hope he goes far.

Bon! bon! Bon! That was a pleasure to watch, Lebrun was persistently aggressive, changing pace when needed and equally effective on both wings. Above all, he kept his cool and was mentally steady. Impressive!

Ok, I was about to say that European players are crap, since Euro winner was murdered by Jaehyun, but Alexis shows he has potential, he can be explosive with bh and fh, he has good control and he also seems to have a very strong mind, showing great emotional control. I am from South America so I am rooting for Calderano. Congrats on an amazing promise France!

Don’t want to take away anything from him, this kid is super talented but I was wondering who could coach/develop him and his bro to this level, since other young players from France are not too good. His uncle, his dad, whoever the coach must be amazing coach(es). It’s not normal at all to coach 2 players and both become world class.

Actually what so special about Alexis? Why is he beating everybody? When I look at how style there's nothing special and looks somewhat weird. But somehow everyone is losing to him including An Jaehyun. Even Qiu Dang barely survived

Very few unforced errors. Great ball control. Good footwork and positioning. Good choices how to return. Good ball placement. Good nerves. That’s already quite a lot. ;-)

@@ttime9947 yup, it was a 4-0 for alexis that time. But tbh Alexis style is a bit weird. Reminds me of waldner. Play very normal but somehow beat everyone including the chinese. Even Xu Ying barely won 3-2 and 11-9 in the final set

I thought his power delivery and strokes were really smooth. He can transition smoothly from defense to attack and he plays safe and only attacks hard given the opportunity. He's a smart player. Felix plays the same way too, but lacks his power.
