➤ Ambrose Bierce was born in Ohio on June 24, 1842. After the American Civil War, in which he participated on the Unionist side, Bierce left for California, where he became a journalist. In England from 1872, he worked for humorous magazines such as Figaro and Fun. He returned to the United States in 1875, beginning a long period of collaboration with various newspapers.
He would become one of the best known journalists and writers of his time, leaving no one indifferent to his sharply critical and satirical sense of humanity. With insolent humor, he attacked all aspects of society: religions, politics, economics, sentimentality... In 1913, at the age of seventy-one, Bierce left to meet the Mexican Revolution without a trace. His death remains a mystery, but it is believed that it may have happened during the Battle of Ojinaga, in January 1914.
➤ A man awaits his tragic end by hanging from a bridge.
Miraculously he manages to escape and return to the arms of his family, but can he really?.....
