Excellent use of this machine. I liked the grouping and use of sounds. Was that digital 1-4, pitched percussion; 5-8 synth chords, and 9-12 analogue drums?
@my4trackmachine2 жыл бұрын
Things change in different sections. The breakdown is closer to 1 = drone or generative mono pad, 2 = snare, 3 = semi-generative Pitched percussion, 4 = metallic fade/generative high hats, 5-8 or 5-7 = poly chord, 8 = at the end extra bass, 9 = kick, 10 = Glitchy semi-generative percussion, 11 = semi-Generative glitchy percussive pitched resonant synth, and 12 = metallic shaker or high hat. I'll pin your question for anyone else who might be interested.

It is very very rare that I re-watch gear demo videos just to hear the music. This is one of those cases.

holy shit, this is one of the best demos of any groovebox I've seen in the past 10 years. Amazing. AFX vibes everywhere. Well done.

My favorite era. I love Quaristice and beyond, but I find myself returning to their more melodic beginnings more often.

Thanks for the kind words! If I can set aside some time, I can try and make a breakdown video as a few people seem curious.

First off. Great Jam! Also the visuals/camera/lens/filters/etc. Are so good. I could stare at this all day. I want to start recording my jams in the near future and would really like something close to this visually. If you dont mind sharing your recording equipment and process here I would be very interested!

Ok. So this is good, very good. I am torn between Syntakt and A4 and this has me lusting the Syntakt again....
@my4trackmachine2 жыл бұрын
IDK if it helps but, the Syntakt is designed w/ a jack of all trades master of none philosophy. The A4 is a master of analog subtractive synthesis but has a more specific specialty. It comes down to what ya need most though. I love my A4 and syntakt.
@my4trackmachine2 жыл бұрын
It also might be worth noting that the syntakt is basically a hybrid of the model cycles and analog rytm. If you own one of those, some of the functions might make parts of syntakt redundant.

@yourcitysleepsАй бұрын
Excellent Jam & Video! I've been debating over getting an Analog four, Analog Rytm or Syntakt...and this may have sold me on the Syntakt. I have never had an Elektron Machine and had trouble with the Modelcycles and returned it because I think they had oversimplified the controls, hiding some features. Would you recommend the Syntakt as a good first Elektron machine?
@my4trackmachine28 күн бұрын
I’d say it’s a pretty diverse device but really requires a bit of time and fine tuned manipulation with the sequencer to extract what you want from the box (like most Elektron products). It has the cycles engines over more channels with a bit of extra analog stuff and additional modulation options. How you modulate and bend the parameter locks really open up the machine. I think this is a decent beginner machine with a lot of room for growth if you are looking for a synthetic groove box workflow.
@my4trackmachine28 күн бұрын
The Digitakt is also great for learning the Elektron workflow but is more sample based.

This is a piece of art, proper badass techno. Although I understand you maybe reluctant to share, I would really appreciate you sharing if you feel up to (needless to say that your work would be rewarded)…I’m pretty new on this I I’d love to get minimal close of what you’re laying in front of us. Very kind of you to share, Thanks PS: I would completely understand you’d like to keep for yourself; I reckon there is a lot of effort behind this.

Was it recorded live in stereo? Or overbridge? Plus interested in how much stuff you had to do on production/mastering?
@my4trackmachine Жыл бұрын
Live stereo recording out of Syntakt. Post production was an automated master job w/ Izotope Ozone 9’s compressor. Mostly what you see is what you get. Nothing fancy.

Awesome. That main tenor sine synth is fantastic. A bit too many layers/ to dense in parts, but I love all the glitchy percussion and the overall vibe.
