It’s not just Japanese. All Asian dramas have a tendency to be cringy. You just have a biase against Japanese and have a preference for other Asian tv shows lol. Most Asian dramas I’ve browsed through( mostly non Japanese) all have over the top and cringy scenes. Still I enjoy most.
