For God's sake, pick up the terrified little puppy and hold her in your arms to show genuine love and affection. A few taps on her head is NOT SHOWING LOVE AND AFFECTION!!! It's no wonder the little puppy is terrified and trying to hide in a corner, she's probably terrified because she thinks she is going to be killed!!

It will take time and comfort for the puppy to adjust. It should be checked by as vet to see that it’s health and if meds would help relax it. Christ man, be kind.
