As a young boy, it was the amazing Stan Bowles that finally sealed my loyalty to QPR. Such a talented entertaining footballer. I was heart broken when he finally left the club. To hear of his passing saddened me deeply. Thank you Stan for making my childhood such a happy time watching you on the pitch. Feared by so many, and loved by so many. Rest in peace great man, you will never be forgotten. DrZ🙏🏻

Good video of a lovely but distinctive traditional English football ground. You say QPR have moved home about twenty times but without trying to state the bleeding obvious, in the nineteenth century clubs that didn't have a settled home used the term Rangers, Rovers or Wanderers in their name. So it not altogether surprising. I would say that their glory years were the seventies with England England players like Gerry Francis, Dave Thomas and Rodney Marsh. Sadly we have just lost Stan Bowles who was an immense talent.

As a 12 year old, I was there when Trevor Sinclair scored that overhead kick against Barnsley in the FA Cup. Ask any R's fan who was there, and they will tell you that as Trev jumped and his foot connected with the ball, a chorus of thousands of fans taking a sharp intake of breath could be heard, following by complete silence as if a vacuum sucked all of the sound out of the stadium for a second, followed by the most incredible eruption of jubilation as the ball hit the net. Strangers started hugging, people were turning around to each other in disbelief, wondering if they were dreaming. When we started to realise what we had witnessed had actually happened, people started saying, "Look, the Barnsley fans are clapping!" Sure enough, they were. The most incredible goal I have ever seen, and to this day, Sinclair, or Tricky Trev as we refer to him, has been my favourite player since. When it won goal of the season at the end of the season, it made it even more special. I've seen some belters at Loftus Road, but I doubt it will ever be topped.

That obstructed view in the away end corner, theres similar sort of thing in the home end corner, i remember a big match in the early 90s and the only ticket we could get was up in that corner, the woman in the ticket office said it was a diabolical view, i took no real notice and said we will take whatever. When the tickets arrived like you say they had 'Diabolical View' printed on them!

Loved watching this video. Been a QPR fan since the 80s my first memories of going to games are during the 81-82 season when I was a 9 yr old lad and Venables almost did the unthinkable and took Spurs to a replay in the FA cup final whilst we were in the old Div 2. Been a lot of highs and lows in my time as a fan but wouldn’t change a thing, well maybe some of the ridiculous owners and completely incompetent managers but that’s a different video. Hey Ry! I enjoyed this one, I’ve not been inside Loftus Road for a few years. QPR originally come from Queens Park which is about 2-3 miles from Loftus Road and has a Tube Station called Queens Park on The Bakerloo Line. The mascot reflects the name Jude from The original merger of St Jude and Christchurch Rangers. I grew up in Central London and QPR and Arsenal were both 15/20 mins tube rides for me,but I chose Arsenal because of The kit colours. You’re probably like The Amex in Brighton as there’s plenty of space to walk around it and easy to park. Thanks for posting.

Come on you Rs! My first game was 1981. By the start of my second game they built the new Loftus Rd stand and installed a plastic pitch. That pitch forced the massive improvement in pitch quality since. Apart from the grass and the all seater, it hasn't changed a bit in 40+ years. Space is a premium, but you get free ear warmers with your seat, i.e., the knees of the person sat behind!

As an American, it’s funny to me that you find it strange to have an away strip in the same colors as the home. We find it strange that European clubs don’t do that routinely. You won’t find the Dallas Cowboys or New York Yankees wearing a purple away strip one year, a green one the next, etc. They stick to versions of the primary pallette. An exception would be University of Oregon football, which is basically a demonstration project for Nike at this point.

Will always have fond memories of Loftus Road. Always got school tickets for QPR. Was at the last game that the artificial pitch was in existence. You had Stuarts the great Casual.shop not far from the stadium. Hammersmith Park also known as BBC Park as alot of programmes most famously Blue Peter used to film in there before the BBC officially moved up North. The whole area I'd also famous for the BBC studios and having an Olympics in the White City area, which are the flats in and around and opposite the main entrance. Most of the Roads like South Africa, Australia Road etc are naned after the connection to the Commonwealth and Olympic Game s. And the name you couldn't pronounce is pronounced as Blom- font-tain Road' which is the capital.of South Africa. Shout our to Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh Sir Les Ferdinand Gerry Francis and David Seaman who famously played for the club.

Iv played on thier pitch against Bournemouth in 2017 and they have a lot of layers mixed into the pitch which is very very uncomfortable. Sand grass astro even a bit of g4 grass so thier no mud on the pitch. And I think this is one of the reason as to why they lose so many games. I struggled to find my feet and so did a few team mates. We got invited coz we played for qpr disability team. Its a horrible pitch to play on. Even the changing room are extremely small only having 1 toilet of each player. Wat i find shocking is that Sunday league teams dont have this issue non pro teams. Thier quite big in size this is probably one of the smallest iv ever been in. The stadium is fine its when u get in thier u see the difference.
