Love that silver fleck they used for Star Destroyer but totally agree with you that it needed more blue. It's too bad, because that has to be the shiniest silver foil I have ever seen in any nail polish, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it had more of that cornflower/periwinkle tint like the bottle!

yeah i wish it popped more, especially like in one swatch i’m sure we’ve all seen on their socials 😩 i think it does look more periwinkle than bright aqua blue, but yeah its only noticeable under direct light it seems.

I love Star Wars so much that I only acknowledge the original trilogy lmao - the newer stuff can have its charms, but I felt like it was watering down my enjoyment of the real movies and getting tripped up in its obsession with its own lore. BUT this collection looks SO GOOD that it's the first "new" Star Wars thing I've been excited for in like... ever?? They killed it, great box, love Star Destroyer, love Lord Vader, love GFFW. I was ready to drop some money when I initially saw the first intro for "Star Destroyer", but as you + others in the comments have pointed out, there isn't enough actual color to it besides a ton of silver. If Mooncat were to ever release an alternate version of "A Galaxy Far, Far Away" without the blue and red flecks in it, then I am buying multiple bottles! That blue to subtle purple magnetic shift looks beautiful.🌌

I’ve never bought mooncat before but I knew I had to with this collection. I LOVE magnetics and I am a HUGE star wars fan. None of the polishes are similar to anything I own as well. I actually ended up only getting the polishes and not the collection box because I don’t need stickers or the nail file, even though the collection box is cool. I really hope they do a ‘light side’ collaboration with star wars in the future!

Reds don't look great on me so these were more along my preferred color choices (Blues, whites and pinks are the colors I lean to). And got a rewards polish, Moon Jelly, which I have but almost out of because I love it so much!

The original Star Wars came out in 1977, I was 16 and dating my hubby! 😂 I’m a big fan, but come on it’s the dark side! The box and details are Amazing!! Sadly I’m not thrilled with the polishes. 🙁 a couple are cute but I don’t often wear magnetics they just take longer than I want to mess with 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I may pick up a polish or 2 but will sadly pass on the set. 🙁

A galaxy far far away is so gorgeous. I have millennia and the others are really close to my other mooncats and non- mooncats. Really appreciate the bottles, packaging. I'll be getting for sure thr Galaxy one and Lord Vader Still unsure about Star Destroyer. It looks so pretty but I'm warm toned. I need that one in gold or copper. I am surprised to see so many people say they have never seen a thermal magnetic polish. Fancy Gloss has done them way before MC. I was wearing one of them (a green to red one) LAST Christmas, so it's nothing new. They even have a black to grey (white) one (and others) as well. That being said, it's nice that other brands now make them too. More colors and options for all of us :)

I've only seen the very first Star Wars movie, waaaay back in the late 1970's, so you're not alone in having seen little to none of the movies! I got A Galaxy Far, Far Away (OF COURSE!), and Star Destroyer. I ordered before watching any videos, which wasn't the best method, as I would've also added Death Star! I thought Death Star was too much like Moonflower and Outlaw Country, but that velvet magnetic effect in Death Star is a stand out! I hope to pick it up after next pay-day! I also added some other polishes from my wish list.

Disney is in the process of putting out a new Star Wars universe series called Skeleton Crew on the Disney+ channel. It’s about a bunch of kids who accidentally stumble upon a starship and have a whirlwind adventure. There are maybe 3 episodes out right now, and I have been watching them with my family when they each get released. If you want a Star Wars gateway drug that goes down easy, this would be a good choice. Nobody has existing opinions on it because it’s new, and it doesn’t have any preexisting characters, so you are coming at it at pretty much from the same level as fans are. It’s a lot of fun, so far. Regarding the polishes, this color story is really not for me, but it does suit the theme. I am just more of a fairies, unicorns and mermaids kinda gal. Give me all the colorful iridescence! 😅

It is mostly magnetics which I like but Im too lazy most of the time so I like shades that also look good unmagnetized and most of these dont. I think my favorite is probably a galaxy far far away but it looks a bit lack luster unmagnetized.The decision to focus on Anakin was on brand but it limited the color palette to red grey black and nudes all colors (except red) that I dont usually gravitate towards. Im gonna pass on this one unfortunately.

thanks so much! oh Fairy Tail is a much lighter/less warm shade of brown if that makes sense, where Scum is almost a brown-black base. Fairy Tail also has a more pale golden magnetic shimmer vs the pink color in scum, and HT has micro holo flecks vs the slightly larger bronzy metallic (not holo) flakes in MC. i wouldn’t call them anywhere near dupes at all!

I feel like this collection kind of played it safe on the inspiration. I'm not really a fan of Star Wars, but it's such a big franchise. A few of the shades are really nice though, especially the red and the flakey bomb is interesting. I think the collection is great. I grew up with huge Star Wars fans surrounding me, so I saw quite a lot of it. That said, the polishes just aren’t my personal vibe. I’m excited to not be tempted 😂

@ I think when a company does a collab for a cult favorite, it is guaranteed that people will either love or hate it. It really depends on how fans view the movie series. I like the colors they chose for Anakin, for the Death Star, and Evil Scummy something. I see the light saber in the cat eye. It makes sense to me. Despite being a fan by family and by marriage, it just isn’t my polish vibe. And that’s cool. My wallet is super happy about that - especially at the holidays. 😂

The lack of holo in most of these + the inclusion of magnetic/flakes means most of these would probably look great with a matte finish

Ugh. I'm so annoyed that A Galaxy Far, Far Away and Lord Vader are really pretty and there's a part of me that wants them. Star Wars is ridiculously overhyped... I wish it would finally just fade into film history and whoever owns the rights to it would stop moneygrabbing as they've been doing for almost 50 years now. (Wow, SW brings out all my rage-snark, lol!) But thankfully, aside from those, I'm safe from wanting anything in this collection.
