Thank you very much for this great video! I have one question, do >99% have no symptoms in general (meaning they don't have even the flu-like syndrome) or do >99% just don't have the neuroinvasive disease (but, say, 30% still have a flu-like syndrome for a few days)? I am asking because I have heard both. Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you for your comment, xDomglmao. In endemic areas, where exposure usually occurs in childhood, only 0.1-0.3% of infections result in disease, but in people exposed at an older age, the rate of symptomatic disease may be higher, up to 4% of infections (academic.oup.com/jtm/article/26/7/taz064/5554873). Most people who are infected have only mild or no symptoms with 1 in 250 cases being severe. The time from infection to developing symptoms is between 5-15 days. Japanese encephalitis can present with fever, chills, headache, muscle pain and spasm, movement disorders, seizures (particularly in children) and a reduction in the level of consciousness (www.encephalitis.info/japaneseencephalitis). I hope this helps!
