I import a lot of models from other games to my server and code the game modes themed with specific game. Server is not public yet, I started in 2020 and it's going to be lunched in 2024, and will have game modes such as Halo deathmatch, Skyrim SMP and GTA rp. Of course - it's still gonna be a lil blocky, but that's because doing 1:1 would take me another few years and idk if server would handle such ammount of data. One "downside" for you guys, it's all going to be in my home-land language which is polish, but maybe if server will grow, I will hire the guy to translate all the stuff in english. I really hope people will play on this server, it's the biggest project in my whole life. And sorry for my english if it's bad, I learned this language during coding.

@Thomas S. GTA rp is ready, Skyrim SMP is almost ready, Halo dm aint done at all but it will be the easiest part (much smaller map to make and just code the guns in ModelEngine), so as I said - I guess that server will be public in around 2024. But I surely will advertise it a lot :)

At some point, you might as well make a whole new game. With epic photorealistic graphics, it's just another game. Apart from gameplay, the Voxal art style is Minecraft's brand, it's personality. The ray tracing upgrades to the graphics, which leave the blocky art style, are far more impressive. Removing the art style, you just have another game.
@1758 Жыл бұрын
trust me it's not worth it, not only it's impossible to optimize any of your "games" (you can't even code an LODs) but also there are easier coding languages that will make your work 10x faster and more efficient. It's good for small maps or servers.

This is cool and all, and not to be a downer, but why? Why not use an actual game engine like Unreal, to get this level of graphics for even better performance? Porting games realistically into Minecraft is counterintuitive. I'd personally rather see people recreate games using the resources that Minecraft already provides, I think that would be much more charming. But I guess it comes down to, "because we can".

At the end of the day, it's for fun!
