Damn. Been a few weeks and I still can't get through that flashback without tearing up. -------------- This is widely accepted as one of the best episodes of _any_ anime. It broke so many people. --------------- Small children can see spirits, that's widely accepted in multiple cultures, including our own. The golden ball reawakened them for Aira. ---------------- Acro Silky was a dancer before she got pregnant. She had to quit to raise her little girl. Flashback opens with her in a hotel room, cash on the nightstand. She had multiple jobs, including selling herself, to give her daughter the best she could. You're right, her daughter was taken to cover the debt. She was short because she bought the dress to give her daughter at least one happy birthday. You were also right that her dance ended with her leaping off the building. ---------------- It hit in the manga, but it _destroyed_ in the anime.

Also I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this but those Chainsawman vibes are pretty valid. Since the creator of this series was an assistant for the author of Chainsawman.

Wow they did put what silky did for a living and why what happened happened .. why would they leave that out of the show

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT FINISHED THE VIDEO!! Here’s what actually happened. Silky was a woman who worked 2 jobs and pimped herself out on the side to earn loans. Her and her daughter loved to dance acrobatically. Silky put the money she owed into a specific envelope. Despite owing this money these guys she uses a good portion of it to buy an expensive dress for her daughter. A couple days later, the guys come for their money. Obviously upset they beat tf out of Silky and take the reason why they didn’t have their money. Her daughter. Silky then performs one last dance on a roof top in honor of her daughter and jumps off. She then wanders around as a spirit looking for something as she forgot her daughter but remembers her desperation. Eventually Ayra finds her and calls her mommy thinking that Silky was her mom. This reminds Silky that she has a daughter that was taken from her but she confuses her with Ayra and Ayra replaces the memory of the original daughter. Silky then goes on to be obsessed with Ayra and follows her around. However it’s clear that she truly isn’t devoted to any particular girl because after Silky eats Ayra she immediately tried to replace her. It is also implied when Silky died that her daughter was already dead. As they were “reunited” in a kinder world. Honestly Silky’s backstory only makes her actions understandable not justified. She is still an evil af Yokai.
