Enjoying the work. I have 4 logs left of the 15. I have done over a 150 logs on my resaw sled. Added winch and varible speed.

My table bolts up but I may modify it somemore to I can quickly changed the blade instead of taking the table off and reinstalling it which is a 45 minute process. I enjoy everyones ideas on stuff. Thats how I learn.

I hear you there. It's a pain to get mine out to change the blade. Version 2.0 is going to be a flip down table top.

The discoloration at the break leads me to believe your blade snapped at the weld as well?

I hadn't looked too close, but I'll have to grab the blade out of the recycling to see if that's the case. Another comment suggested the same thing.

Happens. The grizzly cheap blades will break like that. I am trying a 89.00 carbide reinforced blade. I have sharpened 4 times on these 15 red oak logs.

I believe that there was no tension on the blade as you made the cut. The blade was dancing around before it contacted the wood. You did not provide much video of the attempt so I slowed it down to 25 percent speed to watch it better. The blade did not look to be tensioned properly. I am glad that no one was injured. Good luck with your future projects.

I noticed that as well. I'm thinking there was a partial break in the weld that happened during the prior cut and I didn't catch it before making this cut. I'll have to review my video to see if I can find it.

Keeping the gullet sharp removes the stress fractures that lead to breakage.

looks like a bad weld

That seems to be the consensus. It taught me a lot, and the new blade is already performing better.

Well after 13 logs my carbide enhanced resaw blade no longer cuts. I have sharpened 6 times now. So off to Grizzly to buy the cheaper blades. They may need to be changed more often but I can get 3 for the price of 1 of the carbide enhanced blades.
