I was a member at Bellevue for about 7 years. And I did not regret one single minute. Bro Steve didn't know many from Adam but the first time I was in that big big church once we crossed paths he hugged me and treated me with so much esteem as if I was the only person in the world. I felt seen and loved. I love and truly appreciate Brother Steve Gaines. He had a heart for Memphis and even though he never said it I could tell that he had a great great love for specifically African Americans families. I am going to miss seeing you in the BB pulpit.

I’m not a member, but i have benefited many times from your Ministry Pastor Steve.I committed to pray for you at least 4 years ago.I recently stepped down from the ministry myself.I am currently praying for direction for me and my wife. It’s obvious that your wife Donna is a vital part of your ministry and your life.I know the value of a virtuous woman, as my wife has been a major part of the ministry that we have been involved in.May God richly blessed you and Donna in your 4th.quarter!

Praying for Brother Steve and Donna as they continue to serve the Lord. I believe he is one of the great pastors of our day. Prayers for Bellevue as they go through this change. I know they will not falter. The Lord has His hand on this church.

I remember when Adrian Rogers retired, I never could imagine Bellevue without him. Now, all these years later it is hard to imagine the church without Pastor Steve. God bless Bellevue Baptist. It will continue on til the Lord comes.

Bro. Steve, Ms Donna. I’ve listened to your sermons for years even back when you were at Gardendale and you’ve been such a great blessing to us. Even though we’ve never met, we feel like we know you well. You are one of the great voices of this generation! So inspirational and never compromising regardless of the changing times. The Lord has had and will continue to have his hands 🙌 on you! God bless this new season of your life!

I have listened to Pastor Steve Gaines preach on KZbin since 2021, and today about an hour after I had finished listening to a sermon from Bellevue’s KZbin channel, a fella walked in the store I work at in Orange Beach, AL and after talking he actually goes to the church pastor Steve used to preach at in Alabama! I felt strongly that it was the Lord at work and a blessed conversation. God Bless.

I pray that the church finds who God places into the Pastor position at Bellevue. Bro. Steve I followed you back when you was at Gardendale First Baptist and these 19 yrs. You've helped me grow in God's word. I pray for you and your family, and you health! With God each day we place in his hands and he shall carry you forward to lost Souls. God bless always. With the love of Christ in our hearts with brotherly and sisterly love let us never forget the sacrifice God & Jesus Christ gave, that we have the promise of a life eternal. 🙏💕🙌

Brother Steve I am so grateful for your humbleness in agreeing to come to my small church just a couple years ago and preach a night of revival. It showed your compassion, as you told me...there are no small churches in God's Great Kingdom. God bless you and Donna as you transition, with zeal, confidence and assurance, Amen.

My church's senior pastor also has recently announced that he will be stepping down and taking on a new role as "missions pastor" for our church. When God leads, a faithful person obeys, and that includes pastors! I'm just glad that this is for a good reason, just as ours was! God will use these faithful men and their families to further His kingdom. God bless Pastor Gaines!

Pastor Steve Gains, you will be missed dearly as pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church. I have learned a lot from you over the years. You are a man of integrity, wisdom and faith. God is leading you and Mrs. Donna into the next phase of your ministry. I know that both of you were meant for such a time as this. Your ministry will change people’s lives and give God glory. Thank you Pastor Steve and God bless you and your family and Bellevue Baptist Church during this transition.

Pastor Steve, I have had the honor to watch Bellevue's services years ago. I have seen this video today. I have become acquainted with Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, South Carolina online. They have a bible college additionally to the church and educational school. The founding pastor established this college many years ago and pasted his baton onto Pastor CT Townsend before he finished his race of life. Bellevue's committee, as well as you as senior pastor, may find the leading of Christ in all that you are endeavoring to do in establishing a new pastor at Bellevue and for you going forward in itinerant ministry. You may find candidates to consider for lead pastor and your strength as a pastor may strengthen Pastor CT and the church he pastors. God bless you and Donna as you are lead and live to declare the works of the Lord.

Poem "I Shall Not Go Alone" I know not when or how I go from this familiar scene, But Christ is here, and Christ is there, And all the way between. And when I pass from all I know to my eternal home, Tho late I stay, or soon I go, I shall not go alone! And on that day when home at last, I'll join the sweet refrain, All glory to the Lamb of God, Who for our sins was slain! -- selected "Not my will but Thy will be done!" --Jesus Christ 'You ought to say " if the Lord wills we will live... and do such and such..."'. James We are looking for the Upper Taker - not the undertaker!

I know how this feels from the Senior Pastor though I do not understand the magnitude of it due to the size of Bellevue. It is never easy. So many react in anger because they are hurt that you are leaving. Yet, when God says move you have it go.

Hey, Johnathon! Bro. Steve will be stepping away from the pastorate here at Bellevue over the coming months as the church seeks out the man of God's choosing to lead us as our next pastor. As he said in this video, he's not leaving the church (as a member) or fully retiring, just answering God's call to pursue a different form of ministry.
