Argh I so appreciate your honesty and self-awareness in these videos and I relate to so much of this! Connecting your overspending to groceries and necessities is so interesting too, I don’t think I’ve thought of it this way before. The total replacement-only no-buy is such a good idea. You can get through this and you are not alone with those struggles. What helped me was the routine stuff like deleting every email, subs to triggering shopping content. You can dedicate your free time into looking into ways to cope with overspending, there are a lot of subs on reddit for that. And there are discords for accountability buddies, to talk you out of smth specific, when your husband doesnt have time / energy to supervise everything of your spending. Wishing you the best on your journey.

NailTube found its way to my algorithm this time last year and I can see it fueling an addiction. I've been close to that. I feel the vibe of this video so much. My mom has a shopping addiction. I think seeing what this addiction has done to her has really helped reel me in. My dad passed in 2020 and my mom did not properly deal with her grief. She owed 20,000 dollars to HSN. She had to sell the house she lived in since 1995. Another way I don't go down that path is by holding myself accountable to my own anti- capitalist political beliefs. I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. When you started this channel, what were your goals?

First and foremost, I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry for what your mom is going through. Grief can be so hard to deal with, and I know from my own experiences how easy it is to fall into your addictions in search of comfort and escape, so I feel for your mom. I hope she's doing better and getting help for what she's dealing with. I wish I could blame NailTube for my sudden obsession with buying nail polish, but really, it happened because I got bored with the little collection of nail polish I already had. If I had been smarter about it, I would have given myself a limit on how many nail polishes or how much money I could spend, but hindsight is twenty-twenty. And whether it's nail polish, or books, or makeup, it's so easy to buy too much, especially with online ordering. When I started the channel, I didn't really have a goal beyond finally making videos, which is something I'd wanted do since I was 17 (about eight years before I started posting). Nowadays, the goal is just to make content I enjoy watching, which consists of BYOPs, no-buys/low-buys, anti-hauls, and panning projects. Thank you for watching, and for your comment ❤️❤️❤️
